Join us in building the future of finance.

Our mission is to democratize finance for all. An estimated $124 trillion of assets will be inherited by younger generations in the next two decades. The largest transfer of wealth in human history. If you’re ready to be at the epicenter of this historic cultural and financial shift, keep reading.

About the team + role

We are building an elite team, applying frontier technologies to the world’s biggest financial problems. We’re looking for bold thinkers. Sharp problem-solvers. Builders who are wired to make an impact. Robinhood isn’t a place for complacency, it’s where ambitious people do the best work of their careers. We’re a high-performing, fast-moving team with ethics at the center of everything we do. Expectations are high, and so are the rewards.

The Android team’s mission is to redefine how millions of users engage with their finances. We're focused on delivering intuitive, scalable, and inclusive mobile experiences that empower our customers to build better financial futures. We collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Backend Engineering to ensure every interaction on Android reflects quality, performance, and care.

The Trading Products team creates the experiences that bring Robinhood’s trading ecosystem to life for customers every day. Team Experience is responsible for making those journeys feel fast, intuitive, and dependable—so customers can engage with sophisticated trading products through simple, well-crafted mobile experiences.

This role is based in our Menlo Park, CA office, with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week.

At Robinhood, we believe in the power of in-person work to accelerate progress, spark innovation, and strengthen community. Our office experience is intentional, energizing, and designed to fully support high-performing teams.

What you’ll do

  • Define and drive the technical direction for Android experiences across high-impact product areas, building intuitive, elegant, and reliable mobile systems using Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and modern Android APIs.
  • Lead complex, ambiguous initiatives end to end—from early product and technical strategy through architecture, implementation, experimentation, launch, and long-term evolution.
  • Partner closely with Product Managers, Designers, Backend Engineers, and Data Scientists to shape roadmaps, influence product decisions, and deliver solutions that create meaningful customer and business impact.
  • Establish and uphold engineering standards, architecture patterns, and development practices thatimprove quality, scalability, maintainability, and developer velocity across the team.
  • Act as a technical leader and multiplier by mentoring engineers, driving design reviews, unblocking critical decisions, and raising the overall bar for execution, craftsmanship, and collaboration.

What you bring

  • 8+ years of professional experience developing Android applications, including experience leading large-scale or technically complex mobile initiatives.
  • Deep proficiency with Kotlin and/or Java, and strong expertise in Android SDK fundamentals and architecture patterns such as MVVM, with a track record of making sound architectural tradeoffs.
  • Strong experience with Jetpack Compose, Coroutines and Flow or RxJava, and common Android libraries such as Retrofit and Room, with the ability to apply them at scale in complex production environments.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional partners and align teams around technical and product direction.
  • Demonstrated track record of leading through ambiguity, driving architecture across multiple projects or surfaces, and mentoring senior engineers while elevating engineering standards beyond your immediate team.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

What we offer

  • Challenging, high-impact work to grow your career
  • Performance driven compensation with multipliers for outsized impact, bonus programs, equity ownership, and 401(k) matching
  • Best-in-class benefits including 100% paid health insurance for employees with 90% coverage for dependents
  • Lifestyle wallet — a highly flexible benefits spending account for wellness, learning, and more
  • Employer-paid life & disability insurance, fertility benefits, and mental health support
  • Generous time off including company holidays, PTO, sick time, and parental leave
  • Exceptional office experience with catered meals, stocked kitchens, and commuter benefits

In addition to the base pay range listed below, this role is also eligible for bonus opportunities + equity + benefits.
