The role:

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Finance Business Partner to join our Strategic Finance team. Strategic Finance enables SoFi to develop and execute its growth strategy by driving financial visibility and accountability. As a key business partner, you will provide financial leadership and strategic insights to SoFi Plus, our membership subscription business. This role will also focus efforts on continued improvement within overall Finance processes, scalability, and automation.

What you’ll do:

  • Facilitate annual and quarterly financial forecasting for SoFi Plus in partnership with Business Unit (BU) leaders and in collaboration with stakeholders across marketing, product, risk and operations

  • Be a strategic partner to the Plus team to identify and monitor key performance indicators—including subscriber growth, attrition, retention, LTV, and contribution margin—and develop actionable insights

  • Build and maintain subscription cohort and unit economics models to evaluate lifetime value, payback periods, and the financial impact of pricing and benefit changes

  • Enable the Plus team to prioritize initiatives and make real-time decisions by evaluating and sizing impact to key growth and financial metrics

  • Prepare recommendations on incremental investment opportunities by weighing financial and strategic trade-offs

  • Collaborate effectively with the Accounting department on complex accounting issues, including subscription revenue recognition

  • Show up as a positive culture carrier aligned with our values, driving inclusiveness, belonging, and mentorship within and outside of Finance

What you’ll need:

  • 8+ years of related experience, ideally in corporate finance, financial planning and analysis (FP&A), investment banking, investment management, or consulting

  • Prior experience with subscription modeling—including cohort analysis, LTV, recurring revenue forecasting, and unit economics—ideally supporting financial services or consumer subscription businesses

  • Experience preparing and presenting information to key decision makers

  • Excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills with rigorous attention to detail

  • Expert financial modeling skills (complex formulas, effective lookups and the ability to build a financial model from scratch)

  • Expert Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, or Google Docs/Sheets/Slides

  • Experience with FP&A systems

  • Collaborative working style and demonstrated ability to build strong cross-functional relationships

  • Inquisitive nature, attention to detail, diligence, work ethic, a learning mindset, and a positive attitude

  • Willingness to embrace unstructured environments and problems, and manipulate large data sets

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively

  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, or equivalent knowledge (CFA, FP&A experience, Investment analyst)

What applying to SoFi usually looks like

Based on publicly available information, candidates applying through greenhouse for roles at SoFi can typically expect an online application followed by an initial recruiter screening. The process may include multiple stages such as a hiring manager conversation, a skills or technical assessment relevant to the role (especially for engineering, data, or analytical positions), and one or more interviews with team members or cross-functional stakeholders. Some roles, particularly those in compliance, security, or leadership, may involve additional evaluative steps or panel discussions. Communication is generally managed through the greenhouse platform, and applicants can commonly expect status updates or requests for availability through that system. Response times vary depending on the role and volume of applicants, so candidates should follow up politely if they have not heard back within a reasonable timeframe. Preparing to discuss relevant experience clearly is generally advisable.
