Job description

The University of Southern California (USC), founded in 1880, is the largest private employer in the City of Los Angeles. USC’s Keck School of Medicine, Institute of Urology, is seeking a one-year fixed-term Marketing Coordinator to join our department. The position will support the Institute’s marketing, communications, outreach, and promotional activities to increase awareness of its clinical, research, and academic programs.

Essential job duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate marketing and promotional activities for the Institute’s programs, services, and initiatives.

  • Coordinate the design, production, and distribution of promotional materials, including brochures, flyers, advertisements, presentations, and digital communications.

  • Write and edit content for publications, announcements, advertisements, and other marketing materials.

  • Maintain marketing calendars, project schedules, and distribution timelines.

  • Coordinate advertising, special events, outreach activities, and other promotional initiatives.

  • Ensure appropriate use of USC and departmental branding and logos.

  • Coordinate with internal partners and external vendors, including designers, photographers, printers, and other service providers.

  • Monitor marketing activities and assist in evaluating their effectiveness.

  • Compile information and prepare reports and presentations for management review.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Two years of relevant experience in marketing, communications, public relations, advertising, publications, or a related field.

Knowledge of marketing principles and practices.

Strong written and verbal communication and organizational skills.

Follows established USC and department policies, procedures, objectives, performance improvement, attendance, safety, environmental, and infection control guidelines, including adherence to the workplace Code of Conduct and Compliance Plan.

This position is fully remote and employee must report to work at the USC Health Science Campus in Los Angeles, CA when scheduled. Work hours and remote days may be subject to change depending on business needs.

The hourly rate range for this position is $29.96 - $33.14. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations

Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree, Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education
Minimum Experience: 2 years
Minimum Field of Expertise: Marketing, publications, public relations, business administration, communication, advertising or related field experience. Knowledge of the principles and practices of marketing. Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
