We are committed to creating a culturally safe, supportive and inclusive workplace for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff.

Key benefits include:

About you

  • Strong hands-on technical skills, with experience diagnosing and analysing complex IT issues across desktops, laptops, mobile devices and integrated systems.

  • Tier 2 technical experience providing escalated support and advice for IT infrastructure, live events and hybrid teaching environments.

  • Experience working independently in remote, regional or under-resourced locations while maintaining consistent technical support.

  • Experience identifying trends, recurring user issues and root causes and implementing preventative service improvements.

What applying to University of Sydney usually looks like

Based on publicly available information, candidates applying through workday for roles at the University of Sydney can generally expect an online application involving profile creation, resume upload, and completion of standardized screening questions. The process may include multiple stages, such as initial recruiter review, followed by hiring manager or panel discussions, and possibly skills or competency-based assessments depending on the role, ranging from research and academic positions to administrative or operational roles. Applicants should be prepared to provide detailed work history and, in some cases, references early in the process. Communication and response times vary, and candidates may need to periodically check the Workday portal for status updates. It is commonly advised to tailor responses to role-specific criteria, as Workday systems often parse application data for keyword relevance before human review.
