Job Description

UW Medical Center - Orthopaedics Unit has an outstanding opportunity for a Health Unit Coordinator Supervisor.

WORK SCHEDULE

  • Part-time Days (80% FTE)

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBLITIES

  • Coordination and monitoring of staff, scheduling systems, payroll and timekeeping systems, educational tracking systems and other systems that support the Nurse Manager

  • Customer service to patients, staff and medical team members

  • Interviewing and recommending the selection of candidates

  • Ordering of unit supplies, equipment and facilities management

  • Take a proactive role in efficient operations of the unit

  • Responsible for the overall leadership and supervision of the Health Unit Coordinator and other assigned staff

  • Managing, collecting and reporting of unit data

  • Other assigned duties

  • REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a medically related or public relations field

  • AND Four years of experience as a Health Unit Coordinator

  • OR High School graduation or equivalent and four years experience as a Health Unit Coordinator and a UW Supervisory Skill Certificate.

  • Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration.
