Job descriptionFull Time

Web Design Awards runs an editorially-curated awards program that judges submitted websites against a published, seven-criteria rubric and features winners in a permanent, Google-indexed index that hiring buyers browse when choosing a design studio. We're looking for a Design Curator / Jury Coordinator to help manage the judging process end to end — from intake of submissions through to publication of winners and Site of the Month features.

What you'll do

  • Coordinate the judging pipeline: track incoming submissions, assign entries to jurors, and monitor progress against decision-time targets (including expedited/rushed reviews)
  • Recruit, onboard, and schedule working designers to serve as jurors, and maintain a roster of qualified judges
  • Apply and safeguard the integrity of the published scoring rubric, checking juror scores for consistency and flagging outliers or conflicts of interest
  • Curate the live index and editorial features, including selecting or reviewing candidates for Site of the Month and other recurring recognitions
  • Prepare winning entries for publication: award pages, embeddable badges, and certificates, ensuring accuracy of scores and category tagging
  • Communicate decisions, feedback, and rubric explanations to submitters and jurors in a clear, professional manner

What we're looking for

  • Experience in a curatorial, editorial, awards, jury management, or program coordination role, ideally in design, creative, or media contexts
  • Strong working knowledge of web design and branding well enough to evaluate quality and communicate credibly with a jury of working designers
  • Excellent organizational skills and comfort managing multiple submissions, deadlines, and stakeholders simultaneously
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain scoring rationale to non-jurors
  • Meticulous attention to detail, particularly around fairness, consistency, and transparency in judging
  • Comfort working with spreadsheets, CMS tools, or lightweight databases to track submissions and scores

Nice to have

  • Prior experience as a design judge, juror, or awards program manager
  • Familiarity with SEO or content publishing workflows for editorial pages
  • A network within the design, agency, or web development community
