Web Design Awards runs an editorially-curated awards program that indexes the best work on the web, judged year-round by a named jury of working designers against a published rubric. We're looking for a QA Engineer to help ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of the platform that judges use to score submissions and that buyers use to browse the winner index — including submission flows, scoring tools, badge/certificate generation, and the public-facing directory.
What you'll do
- Design, write, and execute manual and automated test cases across web application features
- Identify, document, and track bugs through to resolution, working closely with engineering
- Build and maintain automated regression and end-to-end test suites
- Test new features and releases for functionality, usability, and cross-browser/device compatibility
- Verify performance, accessibility, and responsiveness of pages and workflows before release
- Collaborate with product and engineering to define acceptance criteria and quality standards
What we're looking for
- Experience testing web applications in a professional QA or SDET role
- Solid understanding of QA methodologies, test planning, and bug lifecycle management
- Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks and tools
- Familiarity with browser developer tools and cross-browser/device testing
- Strong attention to detail and clear, concise bug reporting
- Comfort working directly with engineers in a fast-moving, iterative environment
Nice to have
- Experience testing performance-sensitive or content-heavy web platforms
- Familiarity with accessibility testing standards
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated tests into deployment workflows
