Job descriptionReq 2F7F823C85

AERONES is seeking a hands-on, analytical Mechanical Engineer to design the mechanical systems that let our robots work reliably on wind turbines. In this role, you will design assemblies and components in SolidWorks, prove them with strength calculations and testing, take prototypes through manufacturing with production and suppliers, and see your designs in action at wind farms.

Your work runs from CAD model to prototype to commissioning in the field, so you’ll see exactly how your designs perform and what to improve next.

What You’ll Do

  • Design mechanical systems, assemblies and components for robotic equipment in SolidWorks, taking them from concept to production-ready design.
  • Carry out structural strength calculations and engineering analysis to confirm designs are reliable, safe and perform under operating loads.
  • Select materials, standard components and manufacturing processes, applying design for manufacturing and assembly principles.
  • Prepare and maintain complete technical documentation, including 3D models, manufacturing drawings with appropriate tolerances, and bills of materials (BOM).
  • Integrate drives, actuators, sensors and control hardware into your designs, working closely with electrical and automation engineers.
  • Oversee prototype manufacturing and assembly together with production and suppliers.
  • Plan and run prototype and validation tests, analyse the results and feed the findings into the next design iteration.
  • Improve existing equipment based on field feedback, failure analysis and performance data, and evaluate new technologies, components and design approaches to advance our robotic systems.
  • Take part in on-site testing and commissioning of our robots at wind farms.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

  • Strong experience with SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software, from concept through to production-ready design.
  • Solid knowledge of structural strength calculations and engineering analysis.
  • Proven experience in a mechanical engineering role, designing mechanical systems and assemblies.
  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or a related field.
  • A good understanding of electronics and industrial automation principles.
  • Strong attention to detail, quality and precision.
  • A proactive, problem-solving approach, with ownership of results and the drive to keep improving how things are done.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with proficiency in Latvian and English.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with simulation or FEA tools such as SolidWorks Simulation or ANSYS.
  • Experience designing robotic, automated or heavy-duty field equipment.
  • Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).

What We Offer

  • Competitive pay with a salary of €2,800–€3,500 gross/month.
  • Global impact through robotics shaping the future of renewable energy.
  • Career growth with real opportunities to learn, develop, and advance.
  • Cutting-edge technology with hands-on experience in innovative robotics.
  • Enjoy the journey with team events, celebrations, and a vibrant company culture.
  • Health insurance after your probation period.
  • Extra time to recharge with additional Health Recovery Days.
  • Learning support with paid study leave.
  • Life-event benefits to support you when it matters most.

Ready to make an impact?
If you’re excited about solving real challenges, working with great people, and contributing to technology shaping the future of renewable energy, we’d love to hear from you. Apply and let’s build what’s next together.

What applying to Aerones usually looks like

Based on publicly available information, candidates applying through workable can typically expect a standard online application form requesting a resume, contact details, and sometimes brief screening questions specific to the role, such as technical, mechanical, or sales-related positions. Workable-based processes commonly include an initial application review, followed by one or more conversations with hiring staff, which may include multiple stages such as phone screens, technical or skills assessments, and in-person or virtual interviews depending on the position—whether for engineering, field service, warehouse, or administrative roles. Communication is often handled through automated confirmations and status updates within the platform, though response times vary by employer and role volume. Applicants should ensure their materials clearly reflect relevant experience, as roles ranging from technical to operational positions may have distinct evaluation criteria.
