Affirm is reinventing credit to make it more honest and friendly, giving consumers the flexibility to buy now and pay later without any hidden fees or compounding interest.

About the Finance team

The Finance team ensures Affirm remains financially sound and strategically positioned for growth. Our team manages financial planning, accounting, pricing, vendor management, tax, investor relations, and corporate development. We deliver timely insights, accurate reporting, and careful analysis to support decision-making. From day-to-day financial operations to major investments, we enable sustainable, informed growth by maintaining strong fiscal discipline.

About the role

The Financial Systems team owns the data, technology, and reporting capabilities that support Accounting, including key third-party applications such as NetSuite, Zip, Navan, Workato, and BlackLine. We are embarking on a multi-year initiative to modernize Affirm’s financial systems, support continued growth across global markets, and reimagine how Accounting operates through scalable technology, trusted data, automation, and AI.

What you'll do

  • Lead end-to-end development activities across the financial systems landscape, including solution architecture, technical design, configuration, development, testing, deployment, release management, and production support.

  • Define the enterprise architecture and technical roadmap for global ERP and EPM platforms, supporting cloud transformation across Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP, SAP S/4HANA, NetSuite, or equivalent platforms.

  • Architect, build, and deploy scalable integrations that ingest, transform, validate, reconcile, and distribute complex, high-volume financial and operational data sets across ERP, EPM, data warehouse, HCM, loan ledger, sales, and reporting platforms.

  • Partner with VPs and Senior Directors to align on priorities, resolve competing demands, and establish a clear, shared roadmap for Financial Systems.

  • Collaborate across the product development lifecycle with Product Management, Engineering, and Accounting to ensure technical sustainability, risks, dependencies, and trade-offs are well understood and managed.

  • Act as a force multiplier by defining and advocating for effective technical solutions and operational processes.

  • Own your team’s operations and system availability by ensuring the appropriate monitoring, triage rotations, playbooks, policies, testing, and alerting are in place to support business continuity and on-call efforts.

  • Foster a culture of quality and ownership by establishing strong code review and design standards and advocating for them beyond your team through clear written communication and technical discussions.

  • Develop talent by providing meaningful feedback and guidance, creating growth opportunities, and leading by example.

What we look for

  • You have 10+ years of experience leading the design, implementation, and operation of enterprise ERP, financial reporting, and planning platforms at scale, such as NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, Workday, Hyperion, Anaplan, or similar solutions.

  • Develop integrations between ERP and EPM platforms—including NetSuite, Oracle ERP Cloud, SAP, Oracle EPM Cloud, OneStream, and Anaplan—to support consolidation, close, intercompany accounting, allocations, planning, forecasting, management reporting, and regulatory disclosures.

  • Use technologies such as REST and SOAP APIs, NetSuite SuiteTalk and SuiteScript, Oracle Integration Cloud, SAP Integration Suite/CPI, MuleSoft, Boomi, Informatica, Fivetran, dbt, Snowflake, SQL, Python, JSON/XML, SFTP, and event-based integration patterns.

  • You have a strong understanding of Accounting and Finance processes, including Procure-to-Pay (P2P), Record-to-Report (R2R), Order-to-Cash (O2C), financial close, consolidation, management reporting, and financial planning.

  • Lead the technical design of data models, transformation logic, business rules, calculation engines, reconciliation controls, exception handling, audit trails, and data-quality monitoring across financial applications.

  • Establish reusable integration frameworks and engineering standards covering API management, authentication and authorization, OAuth 2.0, encryption, scheduling, monitoring, logging, error handling, retries, and disaster recovery.

  • You understand the governance, security, auditability, data integrity, and internal control requirements associated with financial systems in a regulated and publicly traded environment.

  • Implement automated deployment and release-management processes using Git, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or comparable CI/CD tools, with appropriate version control, environment management, testing, and rollback procedures.

  • You have a demonstrated ability to build, develop, and retain high-performing teams while establishing a culture of accountability, collaboration, quality, and continuous improvement.

  • You are an effective cross-functional leader who can influence senior stakeholders and build strong partnerships across Accounting, Finance, Product, Engineering, Procurement, Internal Audit, and other business functions.

  • You have strong written and verbal communication skills and can clearly explain complex financial, technical, and operational topics to both technical and non-technical audiences.

What applying to Affirm usually looks like

Based on publicly available information, candidates applying through greenhouse for roles at Affirm can typically expect an online application followed by resume screening, since Greenhouse is commonly configured to collect standardized candidate information and route it to recruiters and hiring teams. Applicants may generally expect an initial recruiter conversation, followed by additional stages that could include hiring manager discussions, skills-based assessments, and panel interviews, though the exact structure may vary by role and department. Communication is often handled through automated status updates within the platform, and response times vary depending on the team and volume of applicants. Candidates should typically prepare materials relevant to the specific role, as Greenhouse-based processes commonly emphasize structured, role-specific evaluation criteria rather than a single standardized interview format across all positions.
