At Affirm, we exist for the moments that matter—giving people a clear, predictable way to pay over time, with no hidden fees, no surprises, and no tradeoffs on what matters most.

About the Technical Program Management team

The Technical Program Management team at Affirm operates at the intersection of strategy, product, and engineering execution. We are versatile operators and trusted strategic partners who drive complex initiatives, design our planning engines, and architect operational frameworks that power the technology behind Affirm's business. Guided by our commitment to putting the customer first and pushing the envelope, we elevate how teams collaborate, resolve critical tradeoffs, and turn high-level vision into scalable reality.

About the role

We're looking for an experienced, motivated Senior Technical Program Manager to oversee high visibility planning programs for our teams and help streamline our processes for building and delivering great customer and merchant products. As our products scale in complexity to meet our accelerating business and expanding product lines, our business and technology process management practices need to scale with it. In this role, you will work closely with engineering, product, analytics, and other cross-functional teams to align efforts with goals, identify opportunities for improvement, and drive change initiatives.

What you’ll do

  • Drive complex, multi-disciplinary, and highly visible transformation & operational programs in service of our team’s mission to deliver honest financial products that improve lives
  • Coordinate and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders across the company to drive alignment on strategy, priorities, and key decisions.
  • Implement lean processes and drive towards better ways of working to realize value from planning, ask questions that clarify priorities and push the team to be effective, and build a culture of continuous iteration and improvement
  • Establish and run data-driven operational frameworks to view portfolio performance against OKRs, accelerate value realization by enabling right investment decisions, influence and train teams on more effective ways of working, and create excitement around change to increase adoption
  • Develop communication strategies to ensure critical information flows seamlessly across the organization
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to plan change requirements, identify risks, manage dependencies, and establish tools and forums to drive clarity and efficiency
  • Identify and distill needs, experiment with new ideas to address systemic inefficiencies and bring transparency, visibility, alignment, and promote accountability across the organization

What we look for

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
  • 8 years of proven experience managing programs, processes, and change management in a technology-focused environment
  • Strong technical background with a deep understanding of software development processes
  • Organized and strategic approach to collaborating across multi-disciplinary teams
  • Obsesses over getting the details right but knows how to make tradeoff decisions
  • Strong stakeholder management with Product, Engineering, Design, Analytics, and other cross-functional teams
  • Track record of successfully implementing frameworks at scale and building relationships in a remote friendly culture
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and consulting skills
  • Passion and drive to change consumer finance for the better
  • Prior experience in FinTech, Payments or Commerce is a plus.
