L9 - Senior Business Solutions Engineer, Legal Tech

Airbnb was born in 2007 when two hosts welcomed three guests to their San Francisco home, and has since grown to over 5 million hosts who have welcomed over 2 billion guest arrivals in almost every country across the globe. Every day, hosts offer unique stays and experiences that make it possible for guests to connect with communities in a more authentic way.

The Community You Will Join:

The Legal Technology team, within the BizTech organization, leads the mission to deliver innovative technology, empowering our legal function to utilize technology productively, driving connection, and scale support. This role sits within BizTech and partners directly with Airbnb's global Legal organization to accelerate the deployment of AI-powered tools, implementation of legal systems & integrations, and workflow automation across the CLO org.

The Difference You Will Make:

We're looking for a world-class Senior Business Systems Engineer to help redefine how Legal operates. You'll deliver fast, practical solutions using internal tools and agentic AI — owning system and tool changes end-to-end, from design through support.

You'll spot what's slowing teams down, champion best practices, and safeguard data integrity across our platforms — all while staying ahead of how AI is reshaping the way we work.

This isn't conventional IT or Legal Ops. You'll be embedded directly within our Legal teams, solving real challenges in real time. As a key driver of our Legal Tech strategy, you'll lead the deployment of AI agents, legal application implementations, and automation that scales our global legal infrastructure.

If you're energized by fast-paced problem-solving and want to shape the future of legal technology with AI — this is the role for you.

What You'll Do

Embedded Deployment & Enablement

  •     Partner directly with practice group leads, paralegals, and in-house counsel to identify high-value workflow automation and AI integration opportunities.
  •     Act as the technical DRI for Legal AI tools — from intake through deployment — owning the full lifecycle development within your assigned legal function.
  •     Build, test, and deploy Legal AI workflows, multi-agent workflows, RAG pipelines, and AI copilots powered by Claude Enterprise. Building MCPs would be add on
  •     Run discovery workshops and translate business requirements into engineering-ready specifications for internal engineering teams.

Governance & Stakeholder Management

  •     Navigate internal governance processes (PLADIS, Security, Privacy) on behalf of Legal stakeholders — managing intake, review, and approvals.
  •     Maintain the Legal Tech project portfolio, ensuring initiatives are tracked, prioritized, and communicated effectively to leadership.
  •     Build trusted relationships with Deputy General Counsels, Legal Ops leads, and cross-functional partners in BizTech, Security, and Engineering.

AI Enablement

  •     Design and deliver Claude Enterprise training sessions for Legal teams — covering prompting, workflow integration, and responsible AI use.
  •     Create adoption playbooks, user guides, and enablement materials tailored to Legal personas (lawyers, paralegals, legal ops).
  •     Track usage metrics and adoption KPIs; report to Legal Technology and CLO leadership on impact.

What We're Looking For

  • 8+ years of professional experience in Legal Technology, or Enterprise SaaS implementation — preferably in a tech company or law firm technology function.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience demonstrably using AI in workflows and to support customers.
  • Proven track record of architecting and building AI-powered applications including multi-agent workflows, retrieval systems, and LLM integrations
  • Proven track record in forward-deployed, embedded, or client-centric technical positions.
  • Experience researching and implementing custom applications from the Marketplace from research, to design and implementation
  • Advanced degree (e.g., MS/MBA) in Business, Computer Science, or related fields preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and implementing custom business solutions and integrations using enterprise platforms.
  • Skilled at stakeholder engagement and cross-functional collaboration in large global organizations.
  • Adept at leading complex projects, simplifying technical concepts, and promoting operational excellence.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially in critiquing technical designs and leading workshops, and engaging with senior leadership.
  • Identifies opportunities for product and process improvements and can lead and implement said improvements, obtaining necessary buy-in from stakeholders and leadership..
