Job descriptionReq 8104502

The Partnership and Alliances team is dedicated to accelerating Asana's growth and market reach through partnerships and fostering a thriving partner network. We build and nurture relationships with Technology Partners and Strategic Alliances to support Asana customers across geographies through our partners' specialized expertise, consulting and technical capabilities. Our team collaborates closely with internal cross-functional teams to align partner efforts with company objectives and ensure that partners are engaged through comprehensive enablement, program support and resources.

We are seeking a Strategic Partnerships Manager to help drive our strategic business development initiatives with leading technology companies. In this role, you will own the global partnership strategy for an emerging ecosystem platform, driving partner growth, and third-party integrations that accelerate Asana AI adoption across all surfaces. This role requires deep fluency in AI/Gen AI platforms, developer ecosystems, as well as the ability to operate with high autonomy in a fast-moving, highly ambiguous environment. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including product, marketing, channel, sales, finance and legal teams at Asana. This role will join our Business Development team, reporting into the CPO organization.

Critical to your success is generating measurable revenue impacts through strategic partnerships that foster new product capabilities, innovative sales playbooks, cohesive marketing campaigns, and retention strategies.

This role is based in our San Francisco office with an office-centric hybrid schedule. The standard in-office days are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Most Asanas have the option to work from home on Wednesdays. Working from home on Fridays depends on the type of work you do and the teams with which you partner. If you're interviewing for this role, your recruiter will share more about the in-office requirements.

What You’ll Achieve:

  • Define and execute the global partnership strategy, focused on scaling Asana AI distribution through developer partnerships and third-party ecosystem growth
  • Identify, evaluate, and close strategic partnerships across the AI developer ecosystem — including tool providers, API integrations, and platform services that expand the product’s capabilities
  • Develop deep understanding of the product details to guide the Product, R&D and BD teams to areas where we can jointly create cutting-edge user experiences
  • Own the end-to-end deal lifecycle from partner identification and contract negotiation through product launch, ongoing relationship management, and performance optimization
  • Serve as the primary external senior representative for Partnerships, building and maintaining executive-level relationships with developers and other ecosystem participants
  • Work closely with Product, Engineering, and AI teams to translate partner requirements into product roadmaps and ensure technical alignment on integrations
  • Collaborate with Enterprise GTM, AI Partnerships, and other BD functions to ensure that the strategy is aligned with Asana's broader AI distribution and go-to-market plans
  • Establish clear metrics, dashboards, and reporting to track the health, growth, and ROI of the partner ecosystem
  • Represent BD in senior leadership forums, providing regular updates on the pipeline, partner health, competitive dynamics, and strategic opportunities
  • Drive continuous improvement in deal processes, partner onboarding, and cross-functional workflows

About You:

  • Have 8+ years of experience in partnerships, product, or technical roles at a software company.
  • Think strategically and can develop thoughtful recommendations and plans aligning with business objectives.
  • Possess strong communication skills to effectively engage with business development leaders, executives, product managers, and engineers.
  • Influence and build relationships within and outside the organization at all levels.
  • Show a strong sense of ownership and accountability for achieving results.
  • Thrive in fast-paced, collaborative environments, driven by urgency and a sense of purpose.
  • Demonstrate proven experience in developing, negotiating, and structuring complex deals.
  • Passionate about technology and its significant impact on society.
  • Foster a team culture that is collaborative and high-performing.
  • Demonstrates curiosity about AI tools and emerging technologies, with a willingness to learn and leverage them to enhance productivity, collaboration, or decision-making.

At Asana, we're committed to building teams that include a variety of backgrounds, perspectives, and skills, as this is critical to helping us achieve our mission. If you're interested in this role and don't meet every listed requirement, we still encourage you to apply.

What we’ll offer
