Job Title: Student Worker - Marketing and Communications Intern

Job Classification: Marketing and Communications, Student

Department: Hankamer School of Business – Communications and Marketing

Desired Length of Employment: Until Graduation

Pay Rate: $12/hr

Key Components:

  • In a student employee capacity, may perform or assist with functions around marketing trends, communications outreach, creative design and production (print and digital)

 

Job Description:

  • Social Media Production: Assist in producing content for the HSB’s social media accounts, including creating posts and analyzing engagement metrics to refine strategies.

  • Content Creation: Write compelling and creative content for various platforms, including social media, blogs, newsletters and the HSB website, ensuring consistency in voice and branding.

  • Photography: Capture high-quality photos at events, around campus and for promotional materials, contributing to a rich visual representation of the HSB’s activities and culture.

  • Graphic Design: Design eye-catching graphics for digital media, including social media posts and digital signs, using tools like Adobe Creative Suite or Canva.

  • Event Support: Provide marketing and communications support for school events, including promotional efforts, live social media updates and post-event coverage.

  • Market Research: Conduct research on current marketing trends, competitor activities and industry best practices to support strategic planning and innovation.

  • Administrative Support: Assist with maintaining a content calendar, organizing digital assets and performing other administrative duties as needed.

    • Provide marketing and communications support to assigned area of responsibility  
    • Assist with various projects, activities or tasks related to marketing and communications 
    • Support marketing and communications strategies and perform duties accordingly 
    • Exhibit a willingness to take initiative and work independently and collaboratively  
    • Ability to comply with University policies  
    • Maintain regular and punctual attendance 
  • May assist with developing and implementing marketing or communication plans
  • May write, proofread and edit communications or marketing materials
  • May create or design creative content and materials for digital or print consistent with University branding
  • May maintain department website(s) or social media/digital platforms
  • May perform video editing or video production
  • May work with photo, video, and audio equipment 
  • May perform research and make recommendations around emerging marketing or social media trends
  • May assist with projects or initatives supporting departmental goals
  • May partner with external vendors for events, print or photography
  • May build and maintain relationships with campus partners and external vendors
  • May track, analyze, and prepare reports on social media data and performance
  • Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor’s mission  
  • Ability to comply with University policies  
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance
