Job descriptionFull Time

Cadence ABA builds an AI-native platform that lets ABA clinicians run sessions by voice, structures the resulting data, and drafts billable session notes with CPT codes mapped for clinician review and signature. We're hiring an ABA Billing & Compliance Specialist to help keep claims clean and documentation audit-ready as our clinic partners rely on the platform to move from session capture to signed, billable notes.

What you'll do

  • Review session notes, CPT coding, and supporting documentation for accuracy and payer compliance before claims go out
  • Track authorization units, reauthorization windows, and payer-specific requirements to prevent lapses and denials
  • Identify and resolve billing holds such as unsigned notes, missing co-signatures, or CPT mismatches
  • Submit, track, and follow up on ABA claims, and manage denials and resubmissions
  • Maintain audit-ready documentation and support internal or payer audits of billing records
  • Partner with clinicians and clinical leadership to correct documentation gaps and keep billing practices aligned with current payer and regulatory rules

What we're looking for

  • Experience with ABA billing, including CPT codes 97151-97158 and related authorization/utilization management
  • Working knowledge of payer requirements for ABA services (Medicaid and commercial insurance)
  • Familiarity with practice management or clinical documentation software used in behavioral health
  • Strong attention to detail and comfort working through compliance checklists and audit processes
  • Ability to communicate billing and documentation requirements clearly to clinical staff
  • Understanding of HIPAA requirements as they apply to billing and PHI handling

Nice to have

  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or similar billing/coding credential
  • Experience with an EHR or clinical data platform that includes billing workflows
  • Prior experience at an ABA provider organization or in RCM (revenue cycle management) for behavioral health
