Cadence ABA is looking for a Lead BCBA / Director of Clinical Product to serve as the clinical authority behind our voice-first ABA data collection and documentation platform. This is a hybrid clinical-and-product role: you'll shape how the software's agentic features (mastery tracking, phase-change proposals, auto-drafted SOAP notes, treatment plan drafting, and authorization tracking) work in practice, ensuring every proposal the system generates is clinically sound, defensible, and something a BCBA would actually sign. You'll act as the bridge between practicing clinicians, the product team, and the standards the field holds documentation to.
What you'll do
- Define and validate clinical logic behind mastery criteria, phase-change proposals, and progress reporting so agent-generated recommendations meet accepted ABA standards
- Review and refine auto-drafted session notes, progress reports, and treatment plans for clinical accuracy, CPT mapping, and billing defensibility
- Partner with product and engineering to translate clinical workflows (data collection, IOA, mastery tracking) into product requirements
- Set and maintain clinical quality standards across the platform, including audit trails, compliance sweeps, and sign-off workflows
- Act as a subject-matter expert for customer-facing teams, training materials, and reference content on ABA measurement and documentation practices
- Stay current on ABA best practices and payer/documentation requirements, and translate changes into product and policy updates
What we're looking for
- Current BCBA certification in good standing, with several years of direct clinical supervision experience
- Deep working knowledge of ABA data collection methods, the eight measurement systems, interobserver agreement, and mastery criteria
- Experience writing and reviewing SOAP notes, treatment plans, and progress reports in a billing-compliant clinical record
- Comfort partnering with non-clinical product and engineering teams to shape software requirements
- Strong written communication skills, with the judgment to review AI-drafted clinical content critically before it reaches a signature
- Familiarity with CPT coding for ABA services and payer authorization processes
Nice to have
- Prior experience in a clinical product, health-tech, or EHR/EMR-adjacent role
- Experience training or supervising RBTs and BCBAs on data collection technology
- Background contributing to clinical policy, compliance, or quality-assurance functions
