Cadence ABA builds AI-native clinical software that helps ABA clinicians capture session data by voice, track mastery, and auto-draft billable SOAP notes with CPT codes mapped to the work performed. We're looking for a Medical Billing / Revenue Cycle Specialist to manage claims and reimbursement processes tied to our billing workflows, working closely with clinical and product teams to keep revenue moving smoothly and accurately.
What you'll do
- Prepare, submit, and follow up on insurance claims (CPT-coded ABA and related services) to ensure timely, accurate reimbursement
- Review claim denials and rejections, research root causes, and file appeals or corrections as needed
- Monitor accounts receivable aging and proactively resolve outstanding balances with payers and clients
- Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and authorization status prior to and during treatment
- Track authorization units and reauthorization windows to prevent lapses in billable coverage
- Reconcile payments, post remittances, and maintain accurate financial records within billing systems
What we're looking for
- 2+ years of experience in medical billing, revenue cycle management, or healthcare claims processing
- Working knowledge of CPT coding, especially as it applies to behavioral health or ABA billing
- Familiarity with insurance verification, prior authorization, and appeals processes
- Experience with claims clearinghouses and billing/EHR software
- Strong attention to detail and comfort working with HIPAA-protected data
- Ability to communicate clearly with payers, clinicians, and families regarding billing questions
Nice to have
- Experience specifically billing for ABA therapy or other behavioral health services
- Familiarity with authorization tracking and payer-specific documentation requirements
- Certification in medical billing and coding (e.g., CPB, CPC)
