About Canopy

Canopy is one of the fastest-growing companies focused on workforce safety in healthcare. Backed by leading venture investors, Canopy is transforming how hospitals protect frontline staff and manage the care environment through a location intelligence platform that combines wearable safety technology, real-time location, intelligent alerting, managed services, and enterprise integrations built specifically for healthcare environments.

We operate in high-trust, high-reliability environments where software quality, operational resilience, and customer experience matter deeply. Today, more than 70 leading health systems and 2,000 healthcare facilities rely on Canopy to protect frontline staff, improve emergency response, strengthen employee confidence, and support workforce retention.

We are scaling rapidly, expanding our product portfolio, and partnering with some of the most recognized health systems in the country. This is an opportunity to join a high-growth, venture-backed company at a pivotal stage, where you can make a meaningful impact on both the business and the safety of healthcare workers nationwide.

The Role

We're looking for a Sales Engineer to partner with our Account Executives throughout the sales cycle and bring the technical depth to answer questions from IT, information security, and clinical technology stakeholders at the hospitals and health systems we sell to. You'll run technical discovery and reviews, manage proofs of concept, and go deeper than an AE can on the architecture, security, and integration questions that come up when customers evaluate our connected safety platform. This is a remote role reporting to the SVP of Sales.

What You'll Own

  • Partner with Account Executives on enterprise and strategic deals, joining calls and site visits to lead the technical conversation
  • Lead technical discovery to understand a prospect's network, IT, and security environment, including wireless infrastructure, identity management, and existing EHR or RTLS systems
  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact for IT, information security, and CISO stakeholders during the sales process
  • Complete security questionnaires and RFP technical sections, and support architecture reviews, in partnership with security and engineering teams
  • Translate customer technical requirements into clear input for product and engineering
  • Support a smooth technical handoff from sales to implementation and customer success

Success in this role looks like

  • AEs consistently bring you in early on technical evaluations, not just at the end
  • Prospects' IT and security teams come away confident Canopy can meet their requirements
  • Security questionnaires and RFP technical sections are completed accurately and on time
  • Deals move through technical evaluation without stalling on unanswered IT or infosec questions
  • Product and engineering get clear, well-documented input from the field

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience as a sales engineer or sales engineer, ideally in healthcare, with RTLS experience a strong plus
  • Background in IT, information security, or working directly with CISOs and security teams
  • Experience with IoT devices and network architecture, including wireless infrastructure and device provisioning
  • Comfort presenting to a range of audiences, from clinical and IT end users to CISOs and other executives
  • Ability to go deeper technically than an AE on architecture, security, and integration questions, while keeping the conversation accessible to non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong track record completing security questionnaires and supporting technical RFP responses
  • Self-motivated and effective working remotely, with willingness to travel for customer meetings and site visits

Working at Canopy

This is an opportunity to be the technical voice of Canopy's sales team, helping hospitals and health systems see how a connected safety platform fits into their environment. You'll work alongside passionate teammates solving complex technical challenges with meaningful real-world impact.
