About CircuitHub

CircuitHub is reshaping electronics manufacturing with The Grid—a factory-scale robotics platform designed to make small-batch, high-mix electronics assembly radically more efficient. Think semiconductor-fab levels of precision applied to the chaotic world of prototyping and low-volume production. The result? A 10x throughput improvement in one of the world’s most foundational industries.

We’ve raised $20M from top-tier investors including Y Combinator and Google Ventures—and we’re already profitable. Our customers include industry leaders like Tesla, Meta, and Zipline.

The Grid isn’t a prototype—it’s live, scaling fast, and already delivering real revenue. We’re now building the engineering core that will scale it further.

What We’re Looking For

We’re hiring driven Mechanical Engineers to join our factory automation team. This role is focused on the design, development, and commissioning of automated robotic cells that support our advanced manufacturing process.

Some software/scripting or PLC/controls capability is preferred but this is primarily a practical mechanical engineering role.

This role is suitable for someone who has built full robotic systems, whether as a hobbyist, student, employee, or founder. You’ll be expected to integrate software, hardware, and process into functional systems and debug failures under real-world production pressure.

We don’t hire narrow specialists. We want engineers who can:

  • Diagnose system-wide failures from first principles

  • Prototype mechanical and software fixes on the fly

  • Work autonomously and communicate clearly to a remote team

  • Take full responsibility for uptime and performance in live production

What You'll Do

  • Design gantries and end effectors in Fusion 360

  • Analyze end effector behavior from video recordings and revise its geometry to improve reliability

  • Conceive of novel mechanical systems to handle electronics parts

  • Install, commission and debug robots

  • Prototype and deploy a new test robot for in-line PCB validation

  • Travel to UK to brief R&D teams and shape roadmap priorities

Key Tools & Technologies

  • SolidWorks and/or Fusion 360 for mechanical design

  • Beckhoff TwinCAT for industrial PLC integration

  • Python for control and automation

Location

In the first year of the role you must be available to work at least three days on-site at our South Deerfield, Western Massachusetts (90 mins from Boston) facility. In early 2027 we will establish facilities in Boston, LA and the Bay Area. Early hires to the South Deerfield team will be in an ideal position to lead the new sites.

What applying to CircuitHub usually looks like

Based on publicly available information, candidates applying through ashby can generally expect a structured online application involving a profile submission, resume upload, and possibly role-specific questions. For technical positions such as mechanical-engineer, robotics-engineer, software-engineer, or systems-engineer roles, the process may include multiple stages such as recruiter screening, technical assessments, and interviews with team members, while production-worker roles may involve a more streamlined evaluation. Ashby-based systems typically allow candidates to track application status through an online portal. Response times vary depending on the organization's hiring needs and volume of applicants. CircuitHub candidates should prepare standard materials like a resume and cover letter, and may be asked to provide references or complete supplementary forms depending on the specific position and department involved.
