SLSQ427R14

Databricks has the most complete data & AI platform on the market. In the Public Sector, the hardest part isn't the technology - it's reaching the mission leaders who own the outcome and earning the right to reshape how they work. The Industry Executive is the senior, relationship-led operator who does exactly that: you use relationships you already hold at the C-suite and Senior leader level to open doors, establish trusted-advisor standing, and set the vision for what an Data&AI-driven transformation looks like. You win on relationships, judgment, and the ability to frame a transformation - not on running a traditional sales cycle.

Responsibilities

  • Implement a comprehensive strategy for growing the company's presence and impact in the Intelligence Community and Department of War.
  • Establish trusted advisor status with LoB/functional leaders (e.g C-suite) by deeply understanding their key business outcomes and determining the most effective way to address those needs
  • Develop deep, high-trust relationships at prospects and customers; read the organization to find the real sponsors and change agents
  • Surface and prioritize the business problems worth solving, quantify the value, and qualify hard - executive sponsorship, real budget, genuine urgency, and a willingness to commit if we prove value
  • Work alongside world class engineers including a Deployment Strategist + Forward Deployed Engineer to deliver business impact for the prospect or customer
  • Land the value, structure the next step for sustained impact and work adjacent organizations

Experience

  • Executive relationships & gravitas: a senior operator (typically 15+ years, including 5+ working directly with agency or enterprise C-suite / senior leadership), with the presence to earn and keep executive trust - typically recently out of U.S. government and/or from a top-tier consultancy, often both
  • Consultative selling: strong problem-solving instincts and industry/functional expertise; able to identify, quantify, and prioritize business outcomes and frame a transformation Landing and expanding: a proven ability to build high-trust relationships, drive transformational change, and land senior commitments; comfortable communicating impact to both technical and non-technical audiences and helping finalize commercials
  • Qualification discipline: sharp judgment on where to invest — what you choose to ignore matters as much as what you pursue
  • Public Sector fluency: previous experience working in the US Government or from a top-tier consultancy that worked in the Government. Travel as needed (50%+).
  • Eligibility for security clearance; existing clearance is an advantage, active TS/SCI preferred.
