JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a Financial Analyst II to coordinate the preparation of operational and capital budgets, financial statements, statistical reports, cost analyses and other financial information; review and analyze unit budget requests and advise units regarding changes in budgets to meet hospital requirements. 

 

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with Financial Analyst for Faculty Compensation on Faculty Compensation related incentives and assist in calculating the clinical and academic portions along with the Division Chief, Vice Chair, and other leadership incentives
  • Analyze academic data, and calculate appropriate incentives and year-end year true-up. 
  • Work with Educational group and Administrative Manager of Research Operations for data necessary for compensation.
  • Manage all module of the academic system including year-end faculty reviews, etc.
  • Manage the Publications Tracking System. Maintain PubMed extracts, and faculty name tables. Analyze publications uploads for outliers, and recommend application logic enhancements based on PubMed data or other comparable system. Manage journal impact factors, h-index, and status of publications other than journal articles.
  • Manages the department’s travel & conference submissions including Concur and other University systems
  • Manages the reimbursement mechanisms for all invoices, purchase orders, and other statements
  • Provide faculty training and assistance with system inquiries on departmental platforms
  • Manages the department’s invoice system submitting invoices to internal and external agencies
  • Prepare the quarterly Clinical Full-Time Equivalent effort analysis and work with finance team on faculty effort submissions. Work with faculty on eCert submissions aligned with the new effort group definitions
  • Prepare the quarterly P&L reports working with finance team to achieve a SOM/DHIP combined summary.
  • Provide backup and monthly review for departmental faculty payroll.
  • Perform DHIP and SOM monthly end close outs

 

JOB ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • Work requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a related field. CPA is desirable.
  • Work requires four years experience in financial management, cost accounting or a field directly related to specialized area of assignment.

 

JOB HOURS

The schedule for this position is day shifts, Monday-Friday, with no weekends or holidays.
