Elite Hockey HQ is looking for a Strength & Conditioning Coach to design and deliver hockey-specific training for athletes using our platform. This role focuses on building and refining periodized, season-phase strength and conditioning programming for hockey players at various levels, working alongside our performance and skill-development teams to ensure training translates to on-ice results.
What you'll do
- Design and periodize strength, power, and conditioning programs across off-season, pre-season, and in-season phases for hockey athletes
- Adapt training loads and progressions based on athlete readiness data such as HRV, sleep, and soreness
- Collaborate with skill and performance staff to align strength training with on-ice skill development priorities
- Review and refine position-specific programming for forwards, defense, and goalies
- Evaluate athlete testing data and adjust programs to address individual strengths and weaknesses
- Communicate clearly with athletes (and where relevant, parents or team staff) on training plans, expectations, and progress
What we're looking for
- Degree in exercise science, kinesiology, athletic training, or a related field
- Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) or equivalent recognized certification
- Demonstrated experience training hockey players or other ice-sport athletes
- Strong understanding of periodization principles and season-phase training design
- Ability to interpret readiness and biometric data (e.g., HRV, sleep, workload) to adjust programming
- Excellent communication skills for working directly with athletes and coaching staff
Nice to have
- Experience working with junior, collegiate, or professional hockey programs
- Familiarity with wearable readiness technology such as WHOOP or Fitbit
- Background in remote or app-based coaching and program delivery
