Elite Hockey HQ is looking for a Content Writer (Hockey) to create written content that helps hockey players train smarter across their season. This role will work closely with the training, programs, and marketing teams to produce copy that explains adaptive training concepts, periodized programs, skill development, and recovery practices to athletes, parents, and coaches across youth, junior, and elite levels of hockey.
What you'll do
- Write clear, engaging copy for the website, app, email campaigns, and social channels that speaks to hockey players and their families
- Produce educational content on training, skill development, recovery, and season-phase periodization tailored to hockey audiences
- Collaborate with the training and product teams to translate technical concepts (readiness, HRV, workload) into accessible player-facing language
- Draft and maintain resource content such as glossary entries, gear guides, and skill breakdowns
- Support campaign launches with landing page copy, onboarding messaging, and promotional content
- Edit and proofread content across the platform to ensure consistency in tone, terminology, and hockey accuracy
What we're looking for
- Strong writing and editing skills with a portfolio of published work
- Genuine knowledge of hockey — positions, leagues, terminology, and training culture
- Ability to translate technical or performance-science concepts into clear, accessible copy
- Comfort working across multiple content formats: web copy, email, social, and long-form articles
- Self-directed with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple content pieces at once
- Familiarity with SEO best practices and writing for digital platforms
Nice to have
- Experience playing, coaching, or working within competitive hockey (junior, NCAA, or higher levels)
- Background in sports performance, strength and conditioning, or sports science content
- Experience writing for a sports technology, fitness, or training platform
