Figma is growing our team of passionate creatives and builders on a mission to make design accessible to all. Figma’s platform helps teams bring ideas to life—whether you're brainstorming, creating a prototype, translating designs into code, or iterating with AI. From idea to product, Figma empowers teams to streamline workflows, move faster, and work together in real time from anywhere in the world. If you're excited to shape the future of design and collaboration, join us!

Core to Figma’s success—and heart—is our community. We care deeply about empowering our community, particularly through a time of rapid change in the industry, and one of the ways we can do that is through education.

We’re looking for a Motion Designer to join our Product Education team. They’ll use their knowledge of Figma, design, and pedagogy to teach our users to successfully adopt Figma into their toolkit..

Day to day, you'll create guided video tutorials for our YouTube Channel, as well as collaborate with other departments on other types of video content. You'll use your skills in motion and design to artfully explain complex topics in terms understandable by junior and prospective designers, empowering them to create.

Our ideal candidate is a passionate educator and collaborator, who is driven by their curiosity to solve problems and learn something new. They're an effective communicator and sweat the details. They should feel comfortable communicating concepts to beginner-level designers and developers in a way that lifts them up and helps them grow.

This is a full time role that can be held from one of our US hubs or remotely in the United States.

What you’ll do at Figma:

  • Manage end-to-end video production, from inception to delivery
  • Collaborate with Education Designers and Content Strategists to create concise and clear scripts, and record voice overs
  • Ideate new videos, record audio and video, create visual assets, animate, edit, write descriptions, and publish final videos to YouTube
  • Create eye-catching motion graphics explainers, animations, and transitions to enhance and augment screen recordings
  • Work with our Product and Engineering teams to understand how new and existing features work, and the problems they solve for our users
  • Collaborate with the Marketing, Brand, Community, and Growth teams to coordinate positioning of our content for new features
  • Identify key success metrics, perform lightweight analytics, and engage with our users in video comments

We'd love to hear from you if you have:

  • Experience animating educational content for SaaS products and features
  • Demonstrated ability to create clear, concise, approachable, and accessible content
  • Proven ability to identify the optimal way to teach complex concepts or features, with a willingness to abandon ideas that didn't work along the way
  • Track record of creative, collaborative brainstorming on new projects and ideas
  • Passion for democratizing design and development, making career paths and opportunities accessible to everyone
At Figma, one of our values is Grow as you go. We believe in hiring smart, curious people who are excited to learn and develop their skills. If you’re excited about this role but your past experience doesn’t align perfectly with the points outlined in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyways. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles.
