We're transforming the grocery industry

At Instacart, we invite the world to share love through food because we believe everyone should have access to the food they love and more time to enjoy it together. Where others see a simple need for grocery delivery, we see exciting complexity and endless opportunity to serve the varied needs of our community. We work to deliver an essential service that customers rely on to get their groceries and household goods, while also offering safe and flexible earnings opportunities to Instacart Personal Shoppers.

Instacart has become a lifeline for millions of people, and we’re building the team to help push our shopping cart forward. If you’re ready to do the best work of your life, come join our table.

Instacart is a Flex First team

There’s no one-size fits all approach to how we do our best work. Our employees have the flexibility to choose where they do their best work—whether it’s from home, an office, or your favorite coffee shop—while staying connected and building community through regular in-person events. Learn more about our flexible approach to where we work.

Why this role is on the menu

Instacart is already a key part of people's everyday lives - we're in their kitchens, their routines, and their biggest moments - and we have the opportunity to earn the same place in their feeds.

That's the opportunity this role exists to unlock. We're looking for someone who instinctively understands social, moves at the speed of culture, and sees creative potential in every grocery moment. The person who joins our team will help define what our brand looks, sounds, and feels like on social for years to come.

What you'll cook up in your first year

  • Concept, shoot, and edit original, platform-native content across TikTok, Instagram, and Pinterest, increasing creative output and consistency.
  • Produce visually compelling recipes, food photography, grocery inspiration, and lifestyle content that makes people want to watch, save, and share..
  • Quickly turn trends, cultural conversations, and everyday observations into timely, entertaining content that’s relevant to our target audience.
  • Collaborate with the Social team to bring recurring series, man-on-the-street interviews, and social-first concepts to life..
  • Capture BTS at shoots and create low-lift graphics, templates, and assets that support always-on programming..
  • You’ll expand our creative capacity by cultivating a strong network of freelance creators, production partners, and agencies, making it possible to produce more great work at scale.

The secret ingredients we're looking for

Must-have pantry staples (Minimum Qualifications)

  • A strong portfolio showcasing exceptional creative taste and original, social-native content across TikTok, Instagram, and/or Pinterest.
  • Hands-on experience shooting, editing, and producing short-form video independently, with proficiency in CapCut and native editing tools. You can take a piece from concept to publish without a production team.
  • Strong visual instincts across video, photography, food styling, and simple social design. You know when content should feel lo-fi, editorial, or polished.
  • Ability to move quickly, turning cultural moments and trends into engaging content within hours without sacrificing quality.
  • Proficiency in lightweight social design, including creating graphics, text overlays, carousels, and reusable templates for recurring content franchises across TikTok, Instagram, and Pinterest.
  • Genuine passion for food, cooking, pop culture, and internet trends, with an instinct for what makes content worth watching and sharing.
  • Comfortable appearing on camera, conducting street interviews, and capturing behind-the-scenes content.

Optional garnishes (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Experience producing food, recipe, or lifestyle content for consumer brands.
  • Familiarity with food styling, recipe development, or working alongside culinary talent.
  • Comfortable directing talent and producing lo-fi social shoots.

What applying to Instacart usually looks like

Based on publicly available information, candidates applying through greenhouse for roles at Instacart can typically expect an initial application review followed by a recruiter screen to discuss background and role fit. The process may include multiple stages such as a hiring manager conversation, technical or role-specific assessments, and panel interviews with cross-functional team members, depending on the position applied for. Greenhouse-based processes commonly involve structured interview kits, meaning candidates may be asked similar or standardized questions across interviewers to support consistent evaluation. Take-home exercises or case studies are sometimes used for technical, analytical, or design roles. Communication is generally handled through automated email updates from the platform, though response times vary by team and volume of applicants. Candidates should prepare to articulate relevant experience clearly, as structured evaluation criteria are a common feature of greenhouse-managed hiring workflows.
