About the project
We're looking for a Senior Python Developer to join a project at the intersection of applied AI and data engineering. The team is building image-processing capabilities powered by multimodal AI models, and in parallel migrating the underlying task-processing platform to a scalable architecture that can handle high-volume requests. You'll work closely with a DevOps team, so deep cloud expertise in every platform isn't required - but comfort picking up new ground is.
What you'll do
- Design and build features that use Vision-Language Models / multimodal AI (e.g. Gemini Vision, GPT-4o, Claude 3.5 Sonnet) to process and reason over images.
- Write and refine prompts for vision-specific use cases (image understanding, visual question answering, multimodal RAG).
- Prototype and build AI agents / agentic workflows that automate image- and document-processing tasks.
- Redesign and scale our Apache Airflow orchestration layer - custom operators, DAG architecture, executor/queuing strategy - to support significantly higher request volume.
- Deploy and operate services in the cloud, primarily Azure, alongside our DevOps team.
- Write clean, tested, production-grade Python and participate in architecture and code review discussions.

Must-have:
- Strong, senior-level Python skills, with a track record of shipping production systems.
- Hands-on experience integrating an LLM or vision-AI API into a real product (any of: Gemini Vision, GPT-4o / GPT-4V, Claude 3.5 Sonnet, or comparable Vision-Language Models).
- Practical experience with prompt engineering, ideally for vision/multimodal tasks.
- Advanced Apache Airflow experience - custom operators, dynamic DAG design, and scaling task queuing/execution (e.g. CeleryExecutor, KubernetesExecutor).
- Working experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and willingness to work in an Azure environment.
- Good spoken and written English for a cross-functional, international team.
Nice-to-have:
- Hands-on experience with Google's AI stack specifically (Vertex AI, Gemini API, Google Agent Builder / ADK).
- Experience building AI agents or agentic workflows (LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen, or similar).
- Direct Azure experience.
- Experience with Multimodal RAG or Visual Question Answering (VQA) use cases.
- General DevOps / CI-CD exposure.
- Polish language at C2 (native) level.
