Position Summary

Post Doctoral Scholar to pursue specialized research training, education, and experience under the guidance of a scientific mentor in the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences; plans, designs, and executes longitudinal research on youth tackle football participants, non-contact athletes, and control groups; quantifies head impact exposure using instrumented mouthguards; collects and analyzes cognitive and neuroimaging data; prepares scientific manuscripts, presents findings, and supports extramural grant applications.

  • Participates in experiment design and evaluation; executes experiments; performs data analysis; reports to principal investigator (PI);

  • Develops new methods for research; develops and details understanding of current relevant scientific literature;

  • Develops and troubleshoots new experimental techniques and protocols which benefit the general research laboratory; prepares research results for publication in reports, papers, journals, books and other media; prepares seminars and lectures for dissemination of knowledge, particularly the results of research undertaken; attends research reviews and seminars;

  • Participates in preparation of grant applications for extramural funding; participates in preparation of manuscripts for publication; supports grant writing; performs additional duties as assigned.
