Job description

About Overview

Overview builds edge-deployed AI vision systems that automate quality inspection on factory production lines. Our self-contained camera units capture images, run deep learning inference in real time, and drive pass/fail decisions directly to industrial PLCs — no cloud required. We ship a tightly integrated hardware + software + AI product into manufacturing environments across North America and China.

The Role

We're hiring a Staff Product Program Manager who owns scope and delivery of Overview products. This is a program manager with genuine product thinking. The product lead sets the roadmap and the "why", with input from insights on the ground from you; you own the "what ships, when, and in what shape." When scope, quality, and date collide, you make the tradeoff call and you're accountable for the outcome.

The role spans release execution across all crossfunctional teams, such as hardware, firmware, and AI/ML workstreams; strategic customer deployment programs alongside our applications engineers and integration partners; and keeping our North America and China launches in sync.

What You'll Do

  • Own program scope: translate roadmap themes into scoped, sequenced deliverables; own aligning on what's in, what's phased, and what's cut — and communicate those decisions with customer-impact rationale

  • Refine and pressure-test product specs written by others: close gaps, surface edge cases, and ensure specs are buildable and testable before engineering commits

  • Run release management end-to-end, including validation gates, OTA fleet rollouts, and the go/no-go call

  • Lead strategic customer deployment programs from pilot through production handoff

  • Synthesize field signal from sales and applications engineering into prioritized requirements and scope adjustments

  • Coordinate dual-market launches across North America and China, including localization and regional tradeoffs

What We're Looking For

  • 5–8 years of program management experience, with several years running programs combining hardware and software deliverables (embedded systems, IoT, robotics, industrial equipment, or similar)

  • A track record of being accountable for scope decisions — in addition to tracking them. You can point to programs where you made tradeoffs and can defend why it was the right call

  • Product judgment: you evaluate scope through customer impact and business value in conjunction with engineering effort

  • Full release-cycle ownership for a shipping physical product, including field deployment

  • Strong written communication: tradeoff memos and postmortems that executives and engineers both actually read

Nice to have: exposure to industrial automation or machine vision, AI/ML product delivery experience, dual-market or international program experience.

Why This Role Is Hard (and Interesting)

You're making scope calls on an edge AI product where a software bug, a model regression, a camera hardware issue, or a PLC integration quirk can all look identical from the customer's factory floor. The role demands enough technical fluency to triage across those layers, enough product judgment to know which cut hurts customers least, and enough spine to make the call and own it.
