JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Penn State Abington’s Division of Social Sciences, Psychological and Social Sciences program, invites applications for an adjunct instructor of Anthropology to teach ANTH 45N: Cultural Diversity: A Global Perspective to begin in January 2027 with the possibility of continuing in August 2027

Candidates must be able to teach this introductory course in Cultural Anthropology and classes are in-person or hybrid for this position. We are offering two sections of the course. Those sections run Tuesday and Thursday from 3:05 p.m. to 4:20 p.m. and 4:35 p.m. to 5:50 p.m. There is flexibility, however, in the days/times we offer these courses.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Preference will be given to candidates who have completed a Doctoral degree in Anthropology, but ABD and Masters level candidates will be considered.
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching undergraduates is highly desirable. 
  • Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to helping all students succeed through engagement in and out of the classroom. 

The Abington College of Pennsylvania State University is a four-year college with a diverse population of 4,000 students in the suburb of Abington, Pennsylvania. While maintaining a close-knit academic community atmosphere typical of a small liberal arts college, Abington offers its students and faculty all of the resources of a major research university.
