JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

We are searching for a Part-Time Research and Development Engineer to join our Innovated Methods Department at the Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) at Penn State. This role will support ARL engineers in experimental testing and data analysis.

ARL is an authorized DoD SkillBridge partner and welcomes all transitioning military members to apply.

You will:

  • Assist ARL engineers in day-to-day activities
  • Assist in experimental design and testing
  • Analyze data vibration and acoustic data
  • Write reports and document findings

Required Skills/Experience areas include:

  • MATLAB
  • Writing technical reports
  • Analyzing dynamic vibrational and acoustic data

Preferred Skills/Experience areas include:

  • Designing experiments
  • Collecting dynamic vibrational and acoustic data
  • Past success recording research publications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering
  • Current eligibility for access to classified information at the Secret level or higher and may be subject to a government background investigation to upgrade clearance eligibility, if required

Work will be a hybrid of on-site/work from home, on-site location is State College, PA. Questions related to flexible work should be directed to the hiring manager during the interview process.
