Job description

We believe that the way people interact with their finances will drastically improve in the next few years. We’re dedicated to empowering this transformation by building the tools and experiences that thousands of developers use to create their own products. Plaid powers the tools millions of people rely on to live a healthier financial life. We work with thousands of companies like Venmo, SoFi, several of the Fortune 500, and many of the largest banks to make it easy for people to connect their financial accounts to the apps and services they want to use. Plaid’s network covers 12,000 financial institutions across the US, Canada, UK and Europe. Founded in 2013, the company is headquartered in San Francisco with offices in New York, Seattle, Washington D.C., Raleigh, London, and Amsterdam.

Plaid's Startup Sales team helps the most innovative, high-growth companies across Europe become fintech-enabled. We partner with product, engineering, and commercial leaders at top startups and scale-ups to bring Plaid's platform into their stack, acting as strategic advisors and growth enablers as they build and scale. By expanding Plaid's reach into new use cases, sectors, and markets, we help advance our mission of unlocking financial freedom for everyone.

We're looking for a Startup Account Executive to join our European Startup Sales team. You'll lead full-cycle sales with high-potential companies building the next generation of financial services, owning relationships from first touch through close. You'll run consultative sales motions with technical and commercial stakeholders at pace and volume. As a senior voice in the segment, you'll also help shape how Plaid scales its Startup motion across Europe as it grows.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and close new business with high-growth European companies

  • Own the full sales cycle from sourcing and qualification through to contracting and handoff

  • Guide product and engineering teams through technical evaluation of Plaid's APIs and data products

  • Develop and maintain a healthy, high-volume pipeline with a mix of inbound and outbound opportunities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (AMs, Solutions, Risk, Product) to drive successful deals

  • Evangelise Plaid's value across fintech and adjacent verticals

  • Contribute to the development of scalable Startup-segment processes and best practices in a growing region

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of full-cycle sales experience in a quota-carrying role, with consistent over attainment

  • Proven success in consultative, technical sales

  • Experience selling to product, engineering, technical and leadership stakeholders

  • Strong track record of meeting or exceeding targets

  • Clear communicator with a collaborative, team-first mindset

  • A passion for fintech, and a pulse on market trends

Nice to have

  • Experience in fintech, payments, or API-first companies

  • Familiarity with the regulatory or compliance landscape in the UK/EU

  • Fluency in a second European language
