Job descriptionReq 1431514033

We help the world run better
At SAP, we keep it simple: you bring your best to us, and we'll bring out the best in you. We're builders touching over 20 industries and 80% of global commerce, and we need your unique talents to help shape what's next. The work is challenging – but it matters. You'll find a place where you can be yourself, prioritize your wellbeing, and truly belong. What's in it for you? Constant learning, skill growth, great benefits, and a team that wants you to grow and succeed.

What you'll bring

You have solid, hands-on experience in tax compliance, corporate tax, and tax risk management, with proven ability to independently implement tax strategies, manage compliance obligations, and drive knowledge-sharing activities across the organisation. Strong technical expertise in corporate tax, transfer pricing, tax planning, and tax software is required. You operate autonomously, can manage complex tax matters across multiple jurisdictions, and have experience engaging internal and external stakeholders with well-informed, evidence-based tax guidance.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • University degree (or equivalent) in tax, business studies, economics, finance, or a related field.
  • Strong communication skills and a positive team player with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
  • Familiarity with international tax matters and transfer pricing items.
  • A CPA, qualified Tax Advisor, or similar certification is a plus.
  • Enjoy analytical thinking.
  • Growth Mindset; self-driven.
  • Proficient in English (both written and spoken). Polish and/or Czech language skills are highly desired.

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Up to 5 years of working experience in a tax or finance function within a multinational organization or similar environment.
  • Practical experience with tax matters in Poland, Hungary, or the Czech Republic is a strong advantage. Experience in other MEE countries is a plus.

What you'll build

You'll independently implement comprehensive tax strategies to ensure compliance with laws and accurate financial reporting across your scope. Managing tax risks through rigorous identification, assessment, and mitigation of potential liabilities, facilitating internal training and knowledge transfer programmes to enhance tax literacy and expertise across the organisation, and representing SAP in internal and external forums as a knowledgeable tax ambassador are central to the role. You'll define and update corporate tax policies to align with global practices, ensure regulatory adherence, and act as a subject matter authority for your areas of tax responsibility.

Expectation and Task

  • Serve as primary point of contact for all tax related matters of our legal entities in Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary, and other MEE countries (CIT, VAT, WHT, tax accounting, transfer pricing) and act as trusted tax expert.
  • Collaborate with the Global Tax Team and broader finance function to identify, plan, and execute opportunities for strategic tax planning and optimization.
  • Scale AI-driven solutions across teams to transform tax operations, automating manual compliance processes, strengthening data-driven insights and improving compliance quality.
  • Oversee transfer pricing policies and ensure full compliance with intercompany transactions.
  • Manage tax controversy and risk mitigation, including tax authority/auditor relations and external advisor budgets.
  • Function as a trusted business advisor, providing guidance to other departments on the tax implications of business decisions to ensure high stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Proactively engage in Tax Law Monitoring and manage the proper implementation of changes, coordinating with IT and key business stakeholders.
  • Contribute to effective tax rate and cash tax management for subsidiaries across the MEE region.

Where you belong

You'll take end-to-end ownership of complex tax compliance and risk management workstreams and act as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders on tax matters. Mentoring junior tax professionals, developing tax knowledge resources, and contributing to the continuous improvement of how tax strategy and compliance are managed at SAP are part of how you'll add value beyond your own delivery.

What applying to SAP usually looks like

Based on publicly available information, candidates applying through successfactors typically begin with an online application and profile submission, often followed by an automated confirmation email. SAP's use of this ATS commonly involves an initial recruiter screening, followed by one or more stages that may include hiring manager conversations, technical or role-specific assessments, and panel discussions depending on the position. Given the breadth of roles available, from technical to business-focused functions, the process can vary in structure and depth. Applicants may be asked to complete skills assessments or case exercises relevant to the role. Communication is generally handled through the platform or email, and response times vary based on volume and role seniority. Candidates should ensure their application materials are complete and tailored, as successfactors-based systems commonly rely on keyword matching and structured data fields during initial screening.
