We are looking for an Senior Engineering Manager to join and lead 2 Engineering Squads in the Player Experience area, which will own one of the most critical parts of the Sports Betting customer journey. You will build the team from scratch, develop its people and ensure technical excellence, working in close cross-functional collaboration with other teams in Super such as Product Design, Data and QA.

What the role involves

  • Hire and lead a team of engineers, with tech leads, software engineers and QAs reporting directly to you
  • Ensure growth and development opportunities for all team members, including coaching and mentoring, identifying and removing roadblocks and distractions, running regular 1:1s and feedback sessions, and carrying out performance reviews for your direct reports
  • Nurture strong relationships with other engineering managers, technical leads and product managers
  • Coordinate stakeholders by defining priorities, managing expectations and ensuring regular updates and follow-ups on the team's scope of work
  • Support engineering department goals by setting team requirements, goals and timelines
  • Make technical and business decisions that ensure predictable delivery in terms of timelines, stability and performance
  • Build and maintain a culture of engineering excellence — we don't cut corners when it comes to quality and reliability

What we are looking for

  • Experience in both technical and people leadership
  • Strong exposure to hiring engineers and establishing team culture
  • Deep understanding of the software development lifecycle
  • An advocate of servant leadership, taking a hands-on approach to engineering on a daily basis
  • Experience resolving complex engineering and communication issues
  • Strong time management, organisational and multitasking skills

Nice to have

  • Experience hiring and scaling a distributed team across multiple domains
  • Experience developing, deploying and maintaining microservices-oriented applications
