This role is no longer accepting applications.

Thoughtworks is a global technology consultancy that integrates design, engineering and AI to drive digital innovation. We are over 10,000 people strong across 47 offices in 18 countries. For 30+ years, we’ve delivered extraordinary impact together with our clients by helping them solve complex business problems with technology and culture as the differentiator.

Thoughtworks.com is one of our most important customer-facing products, helping clients discover our expertise, explore evidence of our impact and take the next step with us. It also helps job seekers explore opportunities and gives search engines and AI assistants an accurate, trusted understanding of who we are and what we do.

Today, fragmented ownership across Marketing limits our ability to deliver connected customer journeys, maintain consistent quality and continuously improve performance.

We’re looking for a Head of Product Design to change that. You’ll lead Thoughtworks.com as a digital product, translating our go-to-market and employer brand strategies into seamless experiences for customers, job seekers and AI agents. You’ll own the website strategy, roadmap, customer journeys, publishing model and content and design quality. You'll also shape experiences across connected channels, including email through Knak and events through Splash, while influencing the internal workflows that drive quality, consistency and speed.

This is a hands-on, player-coach role for someone who can think strategically and deliver at every level, from defining roadmaps and improving customer journeys to refining copy, reviewing designs, interpreting performance data and making launch decisions.

Job responsibilities

  • Website product strategy

    • Set the product vision, principles and roadmap for Thoughtworks.com
    • Prioritize work around customer and business outcomes rather than requests for individual pages
    • Connect the website roadmap to Thoughtworks’ go-to-market priorities, propositions and major company launches.

    Customer journeys and experience

    • Build a deep understanding of our audiences, including enterprise buyers, technology leaders, practitioners, partners, prospective employees and alumni community
    • Design connected journeys that help people move from a question/problem/need to relevant services, expertise, evidence and action, where the site fuels journeys on AI platforms that might never have users interact with our site
    • Use customer research, website data and market insight to identify friction and opportunities
    • Ensure the core website, event pages and email experiences work together where they form part of the same journey.

    Narrative, copy and content quality

    • Own the quality and coherence of the website narrative, copy and information architecture
    • Translate complex technology services and Thoughtworks expertise into clear, credible experiences for different audiences
    • Challenge unclear propositions, duplicated content, unsupported claims and pages that do not serve a defined customer need
    • Work with the central Content team, service-line marketers and subject-matter experts, while keeping accountability for how content works within the overall experience
    • Work with content operations to establish reusable content patterns, editorial standards and clear ownership for maintaining important content.

    Experiences for people and agents

    • Ensure the website is useful and understandable to human visitors, search engines and AI assistants
    • Partner with the SEO and LLM Discoverability Lead to improve how Thoughtworks is found, interpreted and represented to support buyers in their decision making process
    • Shape requirements for structured content, metadata, evidence, content relationships and reusable information
    • Balance machine readability with strong human storytelling, accessibility and brand expression.

Publishing model for the AI era

    • Own the spec for redesigning the publishing workflow from brief through design, production, approval, release and ongoing improvement
    • Work with the GTM tech and Global IT teams to replace manual, error-prone production with reusable patterns, clearer decision rights and proportionate automation
    • Identify where AI can improve research, prototyping, content preparation, metadata, accessibility checks, quality assurance and content maintenance
    • Turn good judgment into practical standards, templates, playbooks and automated checks
    • Build a model that allows teams to move faster without lowering the quality bar or creating uncontrolled publishing.

    Design quality and experimentation

    • Set the direction and quality bar for UX, UI, interaction design and the website design system
    • Use qualitative and quantitative evidence to improve journeys, messaging and conversion over time
    • Sign off on experience quality before major launches.

    Team and agency leadership

    • Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team spanning product design, experience production, transformation and discoverability
    • Give people clear outcomes, decision rights, constructive feedback and room to do excellent work
    • Build an effective working model with the central Content team, GTM technology, Global IT and service-line marketers.

Job qualifications

Technical Skills

  • 10 - 15 years experience leading digital products, customer experiences, service design or product design
  • A strong record of turning customer insight and business strategy into coherent end-to-end experiences
  • Excellent judgment across product, UX, content and design, with the ability to recognize and explain what good looks like
  • Strong writing and editorial instincts, including the confidence to simplify complex ideas and challenge unclear copy
  • Experience working with marketing, product, design, engineering and senior business stakeholders
  • Commercial understanding and the ability to connect digital experience decisions to go-to-market outcomes
  • Systems thinking, including experience creating reusable patterns, design systems, operating models or publishing frameworks
  • Practical understanding of search, structured content and how AI assistants discover and interpret information
  • Experience using AI tools to improve how work is researched, designed, produced or assured
  • The ability to operate in ambiguity, make difficult prioritization decisions and move from strategy to delivery
  • Evidence of leading and coaching people or multidisciplinary teams.

Professional Skills

  • You have a natural ability to establish and nurture relationships with senior leaders across the organization
  • You have excellent context-switching capabilities
  • You thrive in situations where you are given little to no direction and have the ability to lead, organize and deliver commitments on time and within budget
  • You’re resilient in ambiguous situations and can adapt your role to approach challenges from multiple perspectives. You don’t shy away from risks, instead you take them on and skillfully manage them
  • You’re empathetic and use this ability to build solid working relationships and resolve issues quickly and thoughtfully
