Why Valtech? We’re the experience innovation company - a trusted partner to the world’s most recognized brands. To our people we offer growth opportunities, a values-driven culture, international careers and the chance to shape the future of experience.

The opportunity

At Valtech, you’ll find an environment designed for continuous learning, meaningful impact, and professional growth. Whether you're pioneering new digital solutions, challenging conventional thinking or building the next generation of customer experiences, your work will help transform industries.

We are proud of:

The role

We are looking for an experienced Tech Lead – CoreMedia to join our team and work on a strategic digital commerce programme for a leading luxury brand within the LVMH Group.

You will play a key role at the intersection of technology, architecture, e-commerce and digital experience, contributing both to the technical direction of the CoreMedia platform and to the successful delivery of complex digital projects.

You will act as a technical reference for the development team, helping define robust and scalable solutions while supporting Senior and experienced Developers in their technical growth.

The role can be based in Portugal, Germany or France, with a requirement to work onsite with the client in Paris La Défense for a minimum of three consecutive days every month.

You will thrive in this role if you are:

  • A curious problem solver who challenges the status quo
  • A collaborator who values teamwork and knowledge-sharing
  • Excited by the intersection of technology, creativity and data
  • Experienced in Agile methodologies and consulting (a plus)

Role responsibilities

  • Act as the technical lead and main technical point of contact for the CoreMedia squad, towards client architects, product owners and stakeholders.
  • Define and own the technical architecture and design of CoreMedia Content Cloud solutions (Studio, CAE, Headless Server, Content Delivery APIs), ensuring scalability, performance, security and maintainability.
  • Remain hands-on on the most complex developments: custom content types, Studio extensions, Blueprint customisation, templates and Spring-based back-end components.
  • Lead code reviews and enforce engineering standards, test automation, quality gates and technical documentation.
  • Design and secure the integration of CoreMedia with the wider ecosystem: e-commerce platform, PIM, DAM, search, personalisation, CDN and other third-party services through APIs.
  • Translate business and functional requirements into technical solutions and stories, contribute to estimation, backlog refinement and sprint planning.
  • Drive CI/CD, environments and deployments (containers, cloud), release readiness and production support, including incident analysis and performance tuning.
  • Manage technical debt, CoreMedia upgrades and Blueprint evolution, and anticipate technical risks and dependencies.
  • Coach and mentor developers, promote knowledge sharing, onboard new members and foster technical autonomy and continuous improvement.
  • Work in an Agile (Scrum / SAFe) setup: contribute to ceremonies and, in a SAFe environment, to PI Planning and the identification of technical dependencies across teams.
  • Ensure clear reporting and visibility on technical progress, risks and quality, using Jira and Confluence.

Must have qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following essential qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in Java/JEE development, including 3+ years on CoreMedia (Content Cloud / CMS, Studio, CAE, Headless Server, Blueprint).
  • Strong expertise in Java, Spring / Spring Boot, Maven, Freemarker/JSP templating and JavaScript / TypeScript.
  • Solid experience designing REST and GraphQL APIs and headless / hybrid CMS architectures.
  • Proven experience as Tech Lead or Lead Developer: technical decision-making, architecture, code review and mentoring.
  • Experience integrating a CMS with e-commerce platforms, PIM, DAM and search solutions in a complex enterprise landscape.
  • Good knowledge of Git, CI/CD pipelines, Docker/Kubernetes and a cloud provider (AWS, Azure or GCP).
  • Good understanding of performance, caching, security, SEO and accessibility for large-scale web platforms.
  • Experience working in Agile environments (Scrum, SAFe) with Jira and Confluence.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with technical teams, business stakeholders and clients, in onsite and distributed setups.
  • Fluent English (C2).

Nice to have qualifications

  • Experience on luxury, retail or large multi-brand, multi-site and multi-language digital platforms.
  • CoreMedia certification or experience of CoreMedia major upgrades and migrations.
  • Knowledge of e-commerce platforms or marketplaces (e.g. SAP Commerce, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, commercetools).
  • Front-end / headless experience (React, Next.js, Node.js).
  • Experience with observability and performance testing tools (e.g. Grafana, Datadog, JMeter).
  • Experience in large-scale Agile organisations and SAFe ceremonies such as PI Planning.
  • Experience with collaboration tools such as Miro or equivalent.
  • French is a strong asset (working proficiency appreciated).
  • Consulting experience and a strong continuous improvement mindset.

If you do not meet all the listed qualifications or have gaps in your experience, we still encourage you to apply. At Valtech, we recognize that talent comes in many forms, and we value diverse perspectives and a willingness to learn.

Greenhouse-based processes commonly allow candidates to track application status through an online portal or email updates.
