Job description

About Watershed

Watershed is the enterprise sustainability platform. Companies like Airbnb, Carlyle Group, FedEx, Visa, and Dr. Martens use Watershed to manage climate and ESG data, produce audit-ready metrics for voluntary and regulatory reporting including CSRD, and drive real decarbonization. We are looking for team members who love product-building, want to work hard at a mission-oriented startup, and will collaborate with us in shaping the culture of a growing team.

We have offices in San Francisco, New York, Denver, London, Paris, Berlin, Sydney, Mexico City, and remote team members across the US and Europe. We hope that you'll be interested in joining us!

The role

We are looking for a customer-focused and analytically-minded person to join the Sustainability Data Advisory team in our Mexico City office on a fixed-term basis, starting in December 2026. This is a chance to join a core team at a growth-stage startup that works with the world's top companies to speed up their sustainability programs. You'll work directly with customers as a trusted advisor, leading measurement sessions and delivering advisory services that unlock the full value of our platform. You'll help customers get clear, reliable insight into their sustainability impact and reach their sustainability goals.

You will:

  • Advise sustainability teams at many of the world's top companies. You'll work directly with customers on how to measure actionable carbon and non-carbon footprints to reach sustainability goals and enable real reductions. The work ranges from scoping new measurements to in-depth methodology comparisons between footprints.

  • Deliver services that speed up customer success. You'll help customers set up their measurements to meet sustainability goals, act as a trusted partner in emissions verifications, and give specialized advice to improve their data and methodologies. You'll make sure customers get the most out of Watershed's platform, faster and more effectively than they could on their own.

  • Collaborate with science, engineering and product teams to build new measurement solutions and expand Watershed's sustainability intelligence layer.

You might be a fit if you:

  • Have 2–4 years of experience in a consulting, solutions-engineering or other customer-facing role. You are excited to work directly with customers to help them set the foundation for world-class sustainability programs.

  • Have experience in sustainability-related fields, greenhouse gas accounting and/or ESG reporting.

  • Are an excellent verbal and written communicator. You can explain complex topics to technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Learn quickly and work well in ambiguity. You are organized, systematic and efficient, and you thrive in a high-volume environment.

  • Think clearly about complex problems and are comfortable using and speaking to data. You are meticulous and detail-obsessed.

  • Are passionate about solving climate change and excited to help do so at a fast-paced startup.

  • Have strong English proficiency.

Fixed-term details

  • Starts in December 2026.

  • Minimum commitment of 4 months, with a possible extension of up to 3 more months.

  • Fixed-term employees receive compensation and benefits similar to full-time Watershed employees, including daily lunch delivered in the Watershed office.

  • This role requires working in person in our Mexico City office 4 days per week.

Must be willing to work from an office 4 days per week (except for remote roles)

Watershed has hub offices in San Francisco, New York, London, and Mexico City and satellite offices in Denver, Sydney, Paris, and Berlin. Where we have offices, employees are expected to be in office for 4 days per week. Certain jobs are open to being remote and will be specifically noted on the jobs page and in the job description if so.

What’s the interview process like?

It starts the same for every candidate: getting to know the team members through 1 to 2 conversations about Watershed, your experience, and your interests. Next steps can vary by role, but usual next steps are a skill or experience interview (e.g. a coding interview for an engineer, a portfolio review for a designer, deeper experience call for other roles) which leads to a virtual or in person interview panel. We prioritize transparency and lack of surprise throughout the process.

What if I need accommodations for my interview?

At Watershed, we are dedicated to ensuring an inclusive recruitment process. We provide reasonable accommodations for candidates with disabilities, long-term conditions, mental health needs, religious observances, neurodivergence, or pregnancy-related support requirements. If you need assistance during your process, please contact your recruiter.

What applying to Watershed usually looks like

Based on publicly available information, candidates applying through ashby for roles at Watershed can typically expect an online application form requesting a resume and possibly a cover letter or short answers to role-specific questions. The process may include multiple stages, such as an initial recruiter screen, one or more hiring manager or team conversations, and possibly a skills-based assessment or take-home exercise depending on the role, particularly for technical or specialized positions like engineering or data roles. Communication is commonly handled through automated email updates generated by the platform, and candidates can often track application status through an ashby-hosted candidate portal if provided. Response times vary by role and team capacity, so candidates should be prepared for some variability in follow-up timing and should generally refer to any communications received directly from the employer for the most accurate expectations.
