Overview

Position Focus:

Serve as Media and Communications Specialist for the Human Nature Lab, supporting the documentation, dissemination, and public presentation of the Lab’s research. Lead the creation and production of video and multimedia content to communicate research findings to general and scientific audiences, including content for the Lab website, grant applications, and public outreach. Develop and maintain written materials that describe ongoing and completed research projects for use in grant proposals, progress reports, and institutional communications. Assist with updating and expanding the Lab website with new research content, project summaries, and multimedia assets. Support the coordination of special initiatives across multiple concurrent projects, including logistics, for domestic and international field work. Assist with human subjects' activities, regulatory documentation, and background research as needed. May perform other duties as assigned.


Principal Responsibilities:

Under supervision of Project Director and Principal Investigator, provide broad project coordination and operational support across grant-funded projects in a behavioral and biosocial research lab.


Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Experience with video production, filming, editing, and multimedia content creation for scientific communication, outreach, or journalism purposes.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and coordinate multiple special projects simultaneously in a fast-paced research environment.
  • Strong writing skills with experience preparing research summaries, reports, web content, or materials for grant applications.
  • Experience updating and managing website content, including writing and organizing materials for public-facing platforms.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal, organizational, and planning skills; ability to work collaboratively with a diverse, multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated interest in public health, human behavior, and/or social science research.
  • Experience supporting logistics and coordination for travel, events, or field-based activities.

Aligns with department mission and goals.   2.  Works closely with department leadership and colleagues to help ensure success.  Develops activities, monitors effectiveness, and identifies potential areas of improvement or change. 3.  Manages administration including use of resources.   4.  Conducts outreach and communications as needed.  5.  Performs other duties as assigned. Required Education and Experience Bachelor's degree and one year of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
