Cadence ABA builds an agentic clinical platform for ABA practices — clinicians run sessions out loud, and the system captures trials by voice, structures the data, tracks mastery, and drafts billable session notes for clinician review and sign-off. We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help build and scale the product that gets clinicians out of paperwork and back to the people in front of them.
What you'll do
- Design, build, and ship features across the Cadence platform, from real-time voice capture to clinical data structuring and note generation
- Collaborate with product and clinical stakeholders to translate ABA workflows into reliable, well-tested software
- Own significant pieces of the system end to end, including architecture decisions, code review, and production support
- Improve performance, reliability, and offline-first behavior of a system that clinicians depend on mid-session
- Work with agentic/AI components, ensuring outputs are structured, auditable, and reviewable by a licensed clinician
- Mentor other engineers and help raise the bar on code quality, testing, and engineering practices
What we're looking for
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a track record of shipping production systems
- Strong fundamentals in backend and/or full-stack development, including API design, data modeling, and system architecture
- Experience building reliable, well-tested software in a small team where you own features end to end
- Comfort working in a domain with real compliance and data-integrity requirements (healthcare, fintech, or similar a plus)
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work closely with non-engineering stakeholders, including clinical staff
- Ability to thrive in an early-stage, fast-moving environment with evolving requirements
Nice to have
- Experience with real-time or offline-first application architectures
- Experience working with speech/voice interfaces or applying LLMs/AI agents in a production product
- Familiarity with HIPAA or other healthcare compliance and audit requirements
