About the Deal Desk Team
The Deal Desk team is a critical component of the Finance function, serving as a trusted advisor to critical internal stakeholders as deal architect working on structuring, negotiating, approving and closing large complex commitment deals while balancing margin preservation, compliance, and velocity. We are committed to building a data-centric and AI-augmented Deal Desk that leverages predictive analytics and automated workflows to optimize pricing in real-time and automate routine approvals, allowing for deeper strategic focus.
Role Summary
As a Deal Intelligence Analyst, you will be the analytical engine driving our transition to a data-centric and AI-augmented Deal Desk. Sitting within the Finance function, you will design the data systems and executive dashboards that allow our deal architects to analyze complex deal terms, protect margins, and close large, complex commitment deals with unprecedented velocity.
This role is designed for a "full-stack" analyst. You won't just be querying pre-cleaned data—you possess the technical skills to build the pipelines that feed your insights. You will leverage Cloudflare's Developer Platform (Workers, R2, D1, Workers AI) alongside standard data warehousing tools to extract raw CRM and CPQ data, integrate it into AI workflows, and deliver actionable insights that directly impact margin preservation and our global growth.
What you’ll do
- Build Advanced Dashboards & Analytics: Design and maintain executive dashboards and self-serve reporting systems that provide real-time visibility into deal terms, discount thresholds, win/loss rates, and margin performance across all regions.
- Transform Ideas into Reality: Work with stakeholders and help them refine their ideas and goals into queries that we’ll automate.
- Drive Strategic Margin Analysis: Partner closely with Finance, Infrastructure and Deal Desk leadership to dive deep into historic and active pricing data, uncovering insights that ensure our quoting strategies consistently align with margin preservation goals.
- Develop Data Pipelines: Apply your data engineering skills to build and maintain data cleansing tools that help refine data from Salesforce, CPQ, and billing systems, transforming it into clean, usable semantic models.
- Power AI Workflows: Assist in integrating structured deal data into Deal Desk tools to help automate routine approvals and surface real-time pricing optimizations to deal managers.
- Data Storytelling & Enablement: Translate complex datasets into clear, actionable narratives for non-technical stakeholders, empowering the Deal Desk team to use your data products for faster, data-driven negotiations.
Required Skills & Experience
- 3-5+ years of professional experience in Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, or a technical RevOps role, with a strong emphasis on full-stack data problem solving.
- Experience incorporating data into AI workflows, utilizing LLM orchestration frameworks, or building predictive models.
- Proven experience designing analytical data models; domain expertise in financial and SaaS metrics (e.g. margins, discount rates, ARR, NRR) is a strong plus
- Strong programming skills in Python (or TypeScript) with hands-on experience building ELT/ETL pipelines, interacting with APIs, and cleaning raw data.
- Experience designing analytical data models specifically tailored for financial and SaaS business analysis (e.g., margins, discount rates, ARR, NRR).
- Familiarity with cloud data platforms and an interest in edge computing/serverless architectures (Cloudflare Workers, R2, D1).
- Expertise, or interest in learning, CRM data structures (especially Salesforce custom objects), CPQ complexities, and the quote-to-cash lifecycle.
- Solid communication skills with the ability to bridge the gap between technical data systems and operations.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Background working closely with Deal Desk, Finance, RevOps or Sales Strategy teams at a high-growth SaaS or technology company is a plus
- Strong programming skills in Python (or TypeScript) with hands-on experience building ELT/ETL pipelines, interacting with APIs, and cleaning raw data.
- SQL and deep proficiency in modern data visualization and BI platforms (e.g., Tableau, Looker, Sigma, PowerBI) to build intuitive executive reporting.
- Familiarity with data transformation frameworks and orchestration tools (like Airflow).
- Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform or other analytics databases
