WHY DEPT®?

We are pioneers at heart. What this means, is that we are always leaning forward, thinking of what we can create tomorrow that does not exist today. We were born digital and we are a new model of agency, with a deep skillset in tech and marketing. That’s why we hire curious, self-driven, talented people who never stop innovating.

Our culture is big enough to cope and small enough to care. Meaning, that with people across 20+ countries, we’re big enough to provide you with the best tools, global opportunities, and benefits that help you thrive. While acting small by investing in you, your growth, your team, and giving you the autonomy to solve our clients' problems, no matter where you are in the world.

This is a 3 month fixed term salaried contract, located in Ontario Canada. Preferably in Toronto.

About You:

As a Senior Data Analyst, you will transform raw data into trusted, well-modeled datasets using dbt, then design, build, and validate the customizable dashboard templates on top of them. You'll work closely with product, client-facing teams, and engineering to turn client use cases into reliable, well-built dashboards.

What You’ll Do:

  • Gather and document client dashboard use cases with relationship managers and client-facing teams, and translate them into clear reporting requirements.
  • Build and maintain data models in dbt, transforming raw source data into staging, intermediate, and reporting layers that power dashboards.
  • Design the reporting layer to support client-specific configuration.
  • Implement data quality tests, validation checks, and monitoring in the transformation layer.
  • Design, build, and test reusable dashboard templates with a configurable layer for client-specific needs.
  • Support with demos, requirements capture, and follow-up analysis.
  • Validate data accuracy and visual consistency between legacy and migrated dashboards.
  • Document models, templates, and configuration clearly and consistently, including dbt model documentation and lineage.
  • Track delivery risks, dependencies, and priorities, and communicate status to program leadership.

What You Bring:

  • 5+ years as a Data Analyst, BI Analyst, Analytics Engineer, or similar role
  • 2+ years building production dashboards in an enterprise BI platform
  • 2+ years of hands-on dbt experience (models, tests, macros, documentation)
  • Advanced SQL, including performance tuning on large datasets
  • Proven experience modeling raw, unprepared data for reporting and analytics (e.g., dimensional modeling, star schemas)
  • Experience with Git-based version control and code review workflows
  • Experience with a cloud data warehouse
  • Experience gathering requirements from non-technical and client stakeholders
  • Strong documentation habits
  • Clear communication, including with senior stakeholders
  • Ability to deliver independently in a fast-paced environment with minimal ramp-up

The anticipated hourly range for this position is $50 hourly. Rate is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, expertise, and organizational impact. This is based on a 40-hour workweek and leveling. Keep in mind, we're flexible.
