The Egyptian Hockey League (EHL) is the official organized ice hockey league in Egypt, founded in 2021 and headquartered in Cairo. The league runs competitive seasons, player development programmes, and community outreach to grow the sport across the country, and is looking for a Community Manager to help build and engage its fan base as the league expands from Cairo to Alexandria.
What you'll do
- Manage day-to-day activity across the league's social media channels, posting game results, recaps, and announcements
- Engage with fans, players, and clubs online to build a active, responsive community around the league
- Support the planning and promotion of game days, tournaments, and league events
- Work with league staff to gather and share content from clubs, players, and coaches
- Help grow outreach efforts, including learn-to-skate programmes and school initiatives, through community-facing communication
- Monitor community sentiment and feedback, flagging issues or opportunities to league leadership
What we're looking for
- Prior experience managing social media or online communities, ideally for a sports team, league, or brand
- Strong written communication skills and comfort creating content quickly around live events
- Ability to work flexibly around game schedules, including weekends when games are played
- Organized, self-directed, and comfortable managing multiple channels and stakeholders at once
- Genuine interest in growing a developing sport and its fan base
Nice to have
- Experience working with or covering ice hockey or another niche/emerging sport
- Basic photo or video editing skills for game-day content
- Familiarity with the Egyptian or wider Middle East sports and media landscape
