Job description

Our goal is to have a solar system on every roof, a storage unit in every house, and an electric car in every garage. Enpal makes this possible with an integrated total solution for decentralized energy—from solar systems and battery storage to wall boxes, smart meters, and heat pumps. At the heart of it all is our AI-powered platform Enpal. One+, which intelligently connects thousands of systems and efficiently optimizes electricity procurement and feed-in on the energy market.

Are you ready for solutions that are more than just a promise and bring real quality of life to thousands of households every day? What you create at Enpal will deliver clean electricity tomorrow and bring about lasting change in how we use energy.

We are looking for a Data & Analytics Manager to lead an international BI and Data Analytics team across EMEA. This hands-on role combines people management, technical leadership, stakeholder management, and end-to-end data project delivery.

You will translate business priorities into execution plans, guide technical decisions, unblock the team, and deliver reliable data products for BI, self-service analytics, and AI-enabled use cases.

What you'll do

  • Lead, coach, and develop an international BI and Data Analytics team.

  • Build a motivating, accountable, and change-oriented team environment.

  • Model clean, documented datasets in dbt, from staging through to marts.

  • Own tests, documentation, metric definitions, data contracts, and version control workflows.

  • Develop a semantic layer with governed metrics and dimensions.

  • Drive the ongoing adoption of dbt best practices, ensuring models and documentation are consistent, well-structured, and ready for AI-powered analytics.

  • Support team in the diagnosis of source data issues, reconciliation inconsistencies, and establishment of a single source of truth.

  • Support data migration, ELT pipelines, and data platform consolidation.

  • Optimize Snowflake performance, data freshness, and data quality.

  • Own and continuously improve the processes that keep our data platform reliable.

  • Use Python for data checks, automation, and utilities.

  • Partner with BI and business teams to deliver certified datasets, self-service standards, and end-to-end reporting solutions.

  • Translate business needs into scalable data products and governed metrics.

  • Turn business priorities into project plans, identify risks and trade-offs, unblock the team, and drive delivery to completion.

  • Mentor the team on analytics engineering best practices, modern tooling, and AI-assisted development.

What you'll bring

  • 3+ years of experience in Analytics Engineering, BI Development, Data Engineering, or a related field, including 1+ years of people or team leadership.

  • Expert-level SQL and strong data modeling and architecture skills, including star schemas, semantic layers, governed metrics, data contracts, and ELT pipelines.

  • Hands-on experience building production-grade dbt projects, including staging-to-marts layering, tests, documentation, ownership, and version-control workflows.

  • Snowflake experience, including query performance optimization, data freshness, and quality monitoring.

  • Python skills for data checks, automation, and utilities.

  • Experience with data quality and operations, including testing, monitoring, source-data reconciliation, CI/CD, data cataloging, and cost/performance tuning.

  • Experience creating dbt models and documentation, AI-ready data products, and using AI-assisted development tools.

  • Experience delivering certified datasets, self-service standards, and BI/reporting solutions end-to-end.

  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with a hands-on, entrepreneurial, and problem-solving mindset.

  • A motivational leadership style, positive drive for change, and confidence to challenge assumptions and make decisions.

Nice to have

  • Experience with semantic layer tools such as dbt MetricFlow or Snowflake Semantic Views.

  • Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.

  • Experience leading distributed or international teams.

  • German language skills. German is a strong plus but not mandatory.

Are you interested even if you don't meet all the requirements? Apply anyway! We look forward to discovering your potential—regardless of whether your experience meets every single requirement. ☀️
