Habeo is the IT asset management and CMDB platform built for higher education, replacing ServiceNow ITAM with a system designed around GASB 34/35 depreciation, Uniform Guidance grant compliance, and native Jamf/Intune/Workday integrations. We're looking for a Data Migration Specialist to lead the process of moving institutional asset data from customers' legacy systems (ServiceNow ITAM, Asset Panda, EZOfficeInventory, Snipe-IT, Lansweeper, and similar) into Habeo, ensuring clean, complete, and audit-ready records from day one.
What you'll do
- Assess and map data from prospective and new customers' existing asset systems during pre-sale and onboarding
- Design and execute migration plans, including field mapping, data cleansing, and validation against source systems
- Build and maintain mapping templates and tooling to support recurring migration patterns across common source platforms
- Run parallel-run coexistence periods with customers to verify data integrity before cutover
- Partner with customer success, engineering, and implementation teams to troubleshoot migration issues and edge cases
- Document migration methodology and maintain playbooks for common source systems
What we're looking for
- Experience with data migration, ETL processes, or systems implementation, ideally involving asset management, ITSM, or CMDB platforms
- Strong SQL skills and comfort working with large, messy datasets
- Experience with data mapping tools, scripting (Python or similar), and validation/reconciliation techniques
- Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders during migration projects
- Strong attention to detail and a systematic approach to data quality and auditability
- Comfort working directly with customers to gather requirements and manage migration timelines
Nice to have
- Familiarity with IT asset management or CMDB concepts (hardware/software lifecycle, licensing, depreciation)
- Experience migrating from ServiceNow, Asset Panda, EZOfficeInventory, Snipe-IT, or Lansweeper
- Exposure to higher education IT environments or compliance frameworks like GASB or Uniform Guidance
