Habeo is an IT asset management (ITAM) and CMDB platform built exclusively for higher education, replacing legacy ServiceNow ITAM deployments at universities and multi-campus systems. We're hiring an SEO Specialist to grow organic visibility for a company selling into a specialized market of CIOs, IT asset managers, and CISOs at colleges and universities.
What you'll do
- Own the end-to-end SEO strategy for the Habeo website, including keyword research, on-page optimization, and technical SEO audits
- Identify and prioritize keyword opportunities specific to higher-ed IT, ITAM, and CMDB search terms
- Partner with content and product marketing to optimize existing pages (comparison pages, FAQ, glossary, compliance pages) and identify new content opportunities
- Monitor site health, crawlability, indexation, and Core Web Vitals, and work with engineering to resolve technical issues
- Track rankings, organic traffic, and conversion metrics, and report on SEO performance against goals
- Build and manage a backlink strategy, including outreach and digital PR opportunities relevant to the higher-ed and IT sectors
What we're looking for
- 3+ years of hands-on SEO experience, ideally in B2B or SaaS
- Demonstrated experience with keyword research and SEO tools (e.g., Ahrefs, SEMrush, Google Search Console, Screaming Frog)
- Strong understanding of technical SEO fundamentals: site architecture, schema markup, page speed, crawl budget
- Experience collaborating with content writers, designers, and engineers to implement SEO recommendations
- Comfort working with analytics platforms (Google Analytics, GA4) to measure and report on organic performance
- Excellent written communication skills for briefing content requirements and documenting strategy
Nice to have
- Experience with SEO in a niche B2B vertical (education technology, compliance, or enterprise software)
- Familiarity with content management systems and basic HTML/CSS
- Experience with local or vertical-specific search strategies (e.g., higher education, government, or enterprise IT)
