Habeo is the IT asset management and CMDB platform built specifically for higher education, replacing ServiceNow ITAM with a system designed around GASB depreciation, grant compliance, and MDM-native discovery from Jamf, Intune, and Google Admin. We're looking for a Solutions Engineer to partner with our sales team on technical evaluations, demos, and proofs of concept for CIOs, asset managers, and CISOs at universities and multi-campus systems.
As a Solutions Engineer, you'll be the technical voice in the sales cycle — translating prospect requirements into tailored demonstrations, answering deep integration and security questions, and helping institutions see how Habeo fits their environment.
What you'll do
- Partner with founders and account executives to run technical discovery calls and scope prospect requirements
- Build and deliver tailored product demonstrations for IT asset managers, CIOs, and CISOs
- Respond to technical and security questionnaires, including HECVAT and related compliance documentation
- Design proof-of-concept environments that reflect a prospect's Jamf, Intune, Workday, or Banner setup
- Serve as the technical liaison between prospects and the product team, surfacing feature gaps and integration needs
- Support migration scoping by mapping a prospect's existing asset data from systems like ServiceNow, Snipe-IT, or Lansweeper
What we're looking for
- Experience in a solutions engineering, sales engineering, or technical pre-sales role, ideally in B2B SaaS
- Comfort discussing system integrations (SSO, SCIM, APIs, MDM, HRIS) with technical stakeholders
- Strong presentation and communication skills, able to translate technical detail for both IT and finance audiences
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent deals and prioritize technical requests under deadline pressure
- Experience responding to security and compliance questionnaires (e.g., HECVAT, SOC 2 documentation)
Nice to have
- Prior experience in higher education IT, EDUCAUSE-adjacent roles, or selling into universities
- Familiarity with ITAM, CMDB, or asset management concepts
- Experience with Jamf Pro, Microsoft Intune, Google Admin, Workday, Banner, or PeopleSoft
