Job descriptionFull Time

HireAIScore is an independent directory that scores AI hiring vendors against a published rubric tied to the EU AI Act, the Colorado AI Act, NYC Local Law 144, and Illinois HB 3773. We're looking for a Research Analyst to support our evaluator-driven scoring process, helping keep our vendor rankings accurate, current, and grounded in public evidence.

What you'll do

  • Research and document AI hiring vendors' products, features, and public disclosures (data sheets, model cards, audit reports, terms of service, DPIAs)
  • Apply the published rubric to score vendors across the seven regulatory-mapped categories, citing specific evidence for each sub-criterion
  • Track vendor questionnaire responses and technical files, and follow up on documentation gaps
  • Monitor regulatory developments (EU AI Act, NYC LL 144, Colorado AI Act, Illinois HB 3773, relevant case law) and flag implications for scoring
  • Draft clear, well-sourced write-ups of vendor strengths, gaps, and score rationale for publication
  • Support scheduled re-reviews, new vendor onboarding, and change-log updates within required review windows

What we're looking for

  • Experience conducting structured research, policy analysis, or compliance/regulatory review
  • Strong analytical writing skills - able to translate technical or legal source material into clear, evidence-backed conclusions
  • Comfort reading primary source documents such as statutes, technical filings, audit reports, or vendor documentation
  • Meticulous attention to detail and sourcing discipline; comfortable working from a fixed, published methodology rather than personal judgment calls
  • Ability to manage a pipeline of vendors against review deadlines
  • Interest in AI governance, HR technology, or employment law

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with the EU AI Act, NYC Local Law 144, or US state AI employment regulations
  • Background in HR tech, recruiting technology, or ATS/assessment vendor landscape
  • Experience with technical documentation review (e.g., Annex IV-style filings, model cards)
