LandEarly is building an auto-apply platform that helps job seekers find fresh postings, tailor their resumes and cover letters, and submit applications while roles are still new. We're looking for a Backend Engineer to help design, build, and scale the systems that power job matching, application automation, and integrations with external application systems.
What you'll do
- Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs that support core product features
- Develop and scale systems that integrate with third-party platforms and data sources
- Own data models and database schemas, ensuring performance and reliability as usage grows
- Write clean, well-tested, maintainable code and participate in code reviews
- Collaborate with product and frontend engineers to ship features end-to-end
- Monitor, debug, and improve system performance, reliability, and security in production
What we're looking for
- Professional experience building backend services in a language such as Python, Node.js, Go, Java, or Ruby
- Solid understanding of relational and/or NoSQL databases, including schema design and query optimization
- Experience designing and building RESTful or GraphQL APIs
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and CI/CD pipelines
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills, with attention to system reliability and data integrity
- Comfort working in a fast-moving environment with evolving priorities
Nice to have
- Experience working with third-party API integrations at scale
- Experience with background job processing and queueing systems
- Familiarity with building systems that handle high-volume, real-time data updates
