LandEarly is looking for a Security Engineer to help protect the systems, data, and user trust that underpin our auto-apply platform. This role will work across our application and infrastructure stack to identify risks, harden defenses, and build security into how we ship product.
What you'll do
- Design, implement, and maintain security controls across cloud infrastructure, application code, and CI/CD pipelines
- Monitor systems for suspicious activity, investigate alerts, and lead incident response when issues arise
- Perform security reviews of new features and integrations, including threat modeling for sensitive data flows
- Conduct and coordinate vulnerability assessments and penetration tests, and track remediation
- Partner with engineering teams to establish secure coding practices, access controls, and encryption standards
- Help build and maintain compliance-related processes (e.g., data protection, secure handling of user documents and credentials)
What we're looking for
- 3+ years of experience in a security engineering, application security, or infrastructure security role
- Strong understanding of cloud security (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and modern web application architectures
- Experience with security tooling such as SIEM, vulnerability scanners, and endpoint protection
- Familiarity with secure software development lifecycle practices and common frameworks (OWASP, NIST, SOC 2, etc.)
- Solid scripting or programming ability (Python, Go, or similar) for automation and tooling
- Clear communicator who can explain risk and trade-offs to both engineers and non-technical stakeholders
Nice to have
- Experience securing systems that handle sensitive personal data (resumes, employment history, credentials)
- Background in incident response or digital forensics
- Relevant certifications (e.g., OSCP, CISSP, Security+)
