Job description

About Latent

Latent is the enterprise pharmacy intelligence platform, powered by a clinical agentic engine, that enables health systems to grow their pharmacy operations and serve more patients. One engine works across the pharmacy journey to identify patients who qualify for care, improve medication access, capture eligible prescriptions and support patients throughout treatment. Latent’s platform enables more than 60 leading health systems that collectively serve an estimated 70 million people. Founded by Sriram “Sri” Somasundaram and Rishabh Jain, Latent has raised $80 million from Transformation Capital, Spark Capital, Conviction, General Catalyst, Y Combinator, and others.

The Role

We're building the design function at Latent, and we're looking for a Product Designer to shape the next generation of clinical AI products. You'll join a growing design team and own design end to end, from early problem framing through shipped product. You'll work directly with engineering, product, and customers to make complex clinical workflows feel simple.

What You'll Do

Product Design & Ownership

  • Own the full design process from discovery through delivery for core product areas

  • Make smart tradeoffs between speed and polish to keep shipping without sacrificing craft

Enterprise & Workflow Design

  • Design complex, multi-user workflows for clinical and operational teams at large health systems

  • Translate dense healthcare processes into clear, intuitive product experiences

  • Handle edge cases, permissions, and system states that come with enterprise software

Discovery & Customer Insight

  • Work directly with healthcare customers to understand clinical workflows and pain points

  • Turn ambiguous problems into clear product direction

  • Balance user needs with long-term product vision

Design Foundations

  • Establish design standards and processes that grow with the team

  • Partner closely with engineering on implementation quality and handoffs

What We're Looking For

  • Enterprise experience: You've designed complex workflows, multi-user systems, and operationally dense software, and you know how to make powerful tools feel simple

  • End-to-end ownership: You've built products from scratch and defined what to build, not just designed within existing patterns

  • Self-Directed: Comfortable with ambiguity and able to drive from problem to shipped product without heavy process or hand-holding

  • Fast and high craft: You ship quickly, know where to cut scope, and know where to hold the line on quality

  • Product thinking: You care about what we build and why, and have opinions about product direction, not just UI

  • Collaboration: You work well across engineering, product, and GTM, and can explain design decisions to both technical and non-technical audiences

  • Startup Mindset: Comfortable in fast-paced, ambiguous environments — adaptable, high-ownership, and able to maintain momentum through change

Nice to Have

  • Interest in healthcare, pharmacy, or health technology

  • Familiarity with healthcare, EHRs, or clinical systems

  • Experience with AI-powered or data-driven products

  • Experience building products for operational or workflow-driven use cases

  • Background in startups or high-growth environments (seed to Series A)

  • Technical fluency

  • Uses AI tools in your workflow and is always looking for ways to move faster with them

Why Join Latent

  • Backed by top-tier investors including General Catalyst, Conviction, and Y Combinator

  • Work alongside a high-caliber team building products our healthcare partners love

  • Work on mission-critical problems at the intersection of AI and healthcare

  • Real ownership and visibility

  • High-impact role on a small, fast-growing team

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation, including meaningful equity

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance for employee and dependents

  • Flexible PTO policy

  • Paid parental leave

  • Fertility and family-building stipend through Carrot

What applying to Latent usually looks like

Based on publicly available information, candidates applying through ashby for roles at Latent can typically expect a structured online application involving a form submission, resume upload, and possibly some initial screening questions. The process may include multiple stages, such as a recruiter conversation, hiring manager discussions, and role-specific evaluations like technical assessments, portfolio reviews, or case studies depending on the position. Communication is often handled through automated email updates generated by the platform, though response times vary and candidates should not assume a fixed timeline. Ashby-based processes commonly allow candidates to track application status through a candidate portal. As with most ATS-driven hiring, applicants should prepare clear, tailored materials and be ready for both recruiter and team-based conversations, while understanding that exact steps and pacing can vary by role and team.
