Job descriptionReq 6219384004

Location: West US Region

Natera is seeking an experienced Regional Director to build, lead, and develop a team of Clinical Oncology Specialists focused on Genitourinary (GU) cancers across the Western United States.

This specialized sales team will drive adoption of Natera’s Signatera™ molecular residual disease (MRD) test, with a primary focus on Urologic Oncology. Key call points include Urologic Oncologists, GU Surgical Oncologists, Radiation Oncologists, Medical Oncologists, Pathologists, and other healthcare providers involved in the diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of patients with genitourinary cancers.

Signatera is a personalized, tumor-informed circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) assay designed to detect molecular residual disease and monitor disease recurrence. Across GU cancers, including bladder, renal cell carcinoma, and testicular cancers, Signatera provides highly specific molecular insights that can help clinicians better assess recurrence risk, monitor disease status, and inform individualized patient management strategies.

The Regional Director will drive sales performance, ensure sales goals and management objectives are achieved or exceeded, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute business strategies aligned with Natera Oncology's broader corporate objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Hire, coach, develop, and lead a team of approximately 10 Clinical Oncology Specialists focused on GU cancers, driving Signatera adoption and achieving regional sales objectives.
  • Establish a strong field leadership presence through strategic business planning, coaching, CRM utilization, Core Oncology Sales collaboration, and regular field engagement.
  • Develop and execute regional sales strategies targeting Urologic Oncologists, GU Surgical Oncologists, Medical Oncologists, Pathologists, and other key stakeholders across academic and community oncology settings.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) specializing in GU cancers, particularly within major academic medical centers, leading urology practices, and community oncology networks.
  • Drive awareness, education, and adoption of Signatera within GU Oncology, with an emphasis on bladder, kidney, and testicular cancers.
  • Develop expertise in Natera's molecular diagnostics technology, clinical evidence, and service offerings, effectively representing the company with KOL physicians, academic and community medical directors, and executive-level stakeholders.
  • Oversee recruitment, hiring, onboarding, training, and performance development of GU Clinical Oncology Specialists.
  • Conduct regular field visits with sales professionals to provide coaching, reinforce clinical and commercial knowledge, and support individual and team performance.
  • Collaborate closely with Natera's Core Oncology Sales team and cross-functional partners to align account strategies, expand market opportunities, and maximize commercial effectiveness.
  • Monitor market trends, competitive dynamics, and evolving clinical evidence in GU Oncology to identify opportunities for growth and regional expansion.
  • Develop and execute regional business plans aligned with sales objectives, market opportunities, and available resources.
  • Optimize regional and territory alignment to maximize market coverage, sales productivity, and return on investment.
  • Establish best practices for territory management, strategic account planning, physician engagement, and sales execution.
  • Attend relevant local, regional, and national oncology and urology conferences, industry meetings, and training sessions.
  • Support career development and succession planning by providing ongoing mentorship and leadership development opportunities.
  • Ensure all employees complete required training related to HIPAA/PHI privacy, company policies, compliance, and security within 30 days of hire.
  • Support Signatera and Natera's broader Oncology portfolio as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Life Sciences, or a related field required; MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of successful sales experience within Oncology, Molecular Diagnostics, Clinical Diagnostics, Urology, Medical Devices, or the diagnostic laboratory industry.
  • Minimum of 5 years of sales leadership experience, preferably within Oncology, Specialty Diagnostics, or a related healthcare market.
  • Experience in Genitourinary (GU) Oncology, Urologic Oncology, Urology, or GU Surgical Oncology strongly preferred.
  • Experience selling into academic medical centers, large healthcare systems, and/or community oncology practices preferred.
  • Experience launching new products, developing specialized markets, or leading teams through periods of significant growth preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of academic and professional experience will be considered.
  • Ability to travel up to 75%.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong leadership and coaching skills with the ability to recruit, develop, motivate, and retain high-performing sales teams.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to translate business objectives into actionable regional sales plans.
  • Understanding of the GU Oncology landscape, including key physician specialties, treatment pathways, and market dynamics.
  • Knowledge of molecular diagnostics, ctDNA, MRD testing, and precision oncology preferred.
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), physician stakeholders, and healthcare executives.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to analyze market opportunities, competitive trends, and sales performance to drive growth.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams, including Core Oncology Sales, Marketing, and Medical Affairs.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, sound judgment, and the ability to navigate complex business environments.
