JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Penn State Harrisburg Food Services is seeking to fill administrative support vacancies for the 2026 to 2027 Academic Year. This is a student opening with various shifts ranging between Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. or 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. or 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Job Duties

  • Greet customers/visitors, provide information and/or refer as appropriate; review and direct phone and mail communications; act on routine requests.
  • Operate equipment and/or computer systems within unit, including point of sale (POS) systems.
  • Schedule and maintain calendar of appointments and meetings; schedule conference rooms.
  • May coordinate travel arrangements, make reservations, and process reimbursements.
  • Compile and organize materials from different sources to draft e-mails and memos, prepare documents, meeting materials, and reports.
  • Proofread materials to ensure proper grammar/formatting.
  • Process and review routine payroll and/or human resources forms.
  • Create and maintain work unit files and databases.
  • Perform data entry; gather, assemble and format data to create simple reports.
  • Update and make routine changes to web pages.
  • Attend meetings; record, transcribe and distribute meeting minutes.
  • Serve as resource to others on a variety of subjects including office equipment, software application usage, and information processing procedures.
  • May maintain inventory and order/purchase office supplies; arrange for equipment maintenance; process work orders for facilities repairs/needs.
  • Assist in arranging special events.
  • Assist with planning and coordination of projects.
  • May provide training and/or supervision of student and other support staff.
  • May assist with food production, merchandising, customer service and other food service duties.
